Although I have always felt I was appropriately cared for as a customer in the last 2 years I have had 2 issues that proved this dealership as stellar. The most recent was a car accident. After being struck as a customer in the last 2 years I have had 2 issues that proved this dealership as stellar. The most recent was a car accident. After being struck yet uninjured I called the dealership for advice. They FIRST consoled me, then offered advice on every question I had. In fact their advice was spot-on. I have been with this brand and dealership for 3 years now and will stay because EVERY time I have interacted, it has at the least met my expectations. More
The best advice is to question anything and everything you are told. The short version is that I brought in my 2011 335i, with 17k miles, as it was vibrating at high speeds. Diagnois and recommendation: you are told. The short version is that I brought in my 2011 335i, with 17k miles, as it was vibrating at high speeds. Diagnois and recommendation: Replace 3 damaged rims. Must have been potholes they tell me. Cost: $1,500 + I was shocked and did not authorize the replacement. I went online and researched. Unfortunately this problem is quite commmon, especially with the run flat tires (avoid these at all costs!!!) However, I spoke with 3 different foreign car specialists, who all gave me virtually the same information. 9 times out of 10, the rims can be repaired, at a cost of $125 per rim. I called BMW, told them what I had learned. I was then told that they have a wheel guy who comes in and can do this type of work, and how convenient, he would be there the following day. Next day they called and said they could do the work for $160 a rim. I asked if they would match the quote I had for $125 a rim, and they agreed. So how does this job go from $1,500+ to $375? Am I wrong to assume they would have taken my rims, refurbished them and sold them at a handsome profit, while taking my $1,500 at the same time? When I asked the advisor why she didn't tell me about the repair option she said they don't repair rims. Huh? But they can arrange it? Not only that, but the wheels were filthy, and she told me it was because they washed the car before they did the work! Huh? They don't have any cleaning rags? Unprofessional, and no conscience whatsoever. They just can't compare on any level to Honda, Lexus or Porsche. More
They will try to wring every last penny out of you. I brought my BMW in to be serviced because it was shaking a bit. A week later and 1800$, it wasn't covered under my extended warranty. I get the car ba brought my BMW in to be serviced because it was shaking a bit. A week later and 1800$, it wasn't covered under my extended warranty. I get the car back and it is still shaking. They lie. The people there make a commission on every part they sell. More
The service department was very helpful and cross honored a coupon I had with another BMW dealership. The salesforce was also helpful answering a few questions I had on the way out the door. a coupon I had with another BMW dealership. My engine was shuttering and Bridgewater BMW was offering a free check engine light service. I called the service department, made an appointment for 8:30 am and left my car to have it checked out. At around a free check engine light service. I called the service department, made an appointment for 8:30 am and left my car to have it checked out. At around 3:30 I received a call and was told that my car was checked out and needed all new coils, new spark plugs and a new water pump. The cost would be approximately $3,000. I was then told of a host of other "issues" that need to be addressed as well and the total cost for that would be an additional $4,000. I told her my spark plugs were changed 70,000 miles ago and are supposed to be good for 105,000 miles. She said that's what happens when cars get old. I asked to pick up my car so I could make a decision. I contacted a local auto shop who told me to replace the spark plugs, coils and water pump would cost $1,500 (although he said the water pump has nothing to do with the problem I was experiencing), so I brought my car there. The other auto shop checked my vehicle's computer, found out there was a misfire on only one cylinder, there was nothing wrong with my spark plugs (he said they had another 35,000 miles to go), only one of my coils was bad and while my water pump was signalling issues on and off my car never overheated so it was probably just a sensor issue and wouldn't require replacement. I picked up my car after one coil was replaced by the local auto shop and my total bill was $165.00. My car drives perfectly. While I purchased my car from Hunterdon BMW, this experience is why I never went to them for service work and I hoped that their move to Bridgewater would change that but I guess that's too much to hope for. I would never go to them again nor would I recommend them to anyone. More
My 2001 530I was towed there after breaking down and was told the battery needed to be replaced. They charged me $179.93 to install and charged me $274.95 for the battery. I was unhappy but what could I do told the battery needed to be replaced. They charged me $179.93 to install and charged me $274.95 for the battery. I was unhappy but what could I do even though my dealer told me they would do same for $280.00. Well less than a week later I broke down again in my driveway same as last experience, and I have waited for them to call me and there has been no reply. AVOID THIS DEALER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The service manager at Hunterdon BMW, was rude and unprofessional. He made it very clear to me that he did not value me as a customer -- I asked him point blank if he cared if he lost me as a custome unprofessional. He made it very clear to me that he did not value me as a customer -- I asked him point blank if he cared if he lost me as a customer and he said "No!". I sent letters and emails to the general manager and the owner simply asking for an apology from their service manager, but neither one ever responded -- not even a form letter. I raised my complaint to BMW NA. They were very responsive, very nice and very helpful. They contacted Hunterdon BMW on my behalf but Hunterdon BMW wanted nothing to do with the situation. BMW NA informed me that they were sorry but each dealership is independently owned and that they could only suggest that Hunterdon send an apology letter. Stay away from this dealership! More
I did not purchase my 2002 BMW 525i from Hunterdon BMW, but my wife did purchase here 325i there. We have had both cars in for repairs in the past and I have been lukewarm to their service. First, I thou but my wife did purchase here 325i there. We have had both cars in for repairs in the past and I have been lukewarm to their service. First, I thought their prices were high and, after comparing them to other local dealers (Flemington BMW and Princeton BMW) I have confirmed that they are the most expensive place to get service. This is also true for parts. Second, every time I've brought the car in for service, I get a litany of problems, most of them are either minor or seem made up. My wife needed new front brakes and Hunterdon wanted to charge over $600 for a front brake job, with rotors; Flemington wanted about $450. Needless to say, I did not take the car to Hunterdon. My car had a bad battery and I had the car towed their. After $300 to replace the battery, they still wanted another $150 to diagnose the charging system because they saw a small drain. The "drain " was the radar detector, which was plugged into the cigarette lighter! I resolved the "drain" for less than $150! Less than a year later, the battery I had purchased from them died and I wanted to get it replaced. I needed to get to work and took the battery out think they could swap me for a new one. Clearly, the battery was bad. When I called them, they told me they could not check the battery out of the car and needed me to bring the car in with the dead battery installed. That would require me to spend several hours getting a towing service to tow the car to the dealership, leave the car there all day so they could replace the bad battery. I did not have that much time and decided to replace the battery myself. At least then when it dies, I can put a new one in myself! I have owned a lot of cars and had them services at many places, as well as done my own service. In the 30+ years I have been a car owner, I have to say the Hunterdon BMW ranks as one of the worse for service. They are argumentative, pushy, unhelpful and completely worthless. I will never take a car to Hunterdon BMW for service again! More
I bought my 2002 M3 new through this dealer in February, 2002. At the time, there was a waiting list at all of the dealers in the area for the new M3. At some of the dealers, however, they were taking "fi 2002. At the time, there was a waiting list at all of the dealers in the area for the new M3. At some of the dealers, however, they were taking "finder fees" on new M3s in addition to the deposit towards the car itself. Some dealers made the deposits non-refundable. Hunterdon, on the other hand, went out of their way to make the purchase experience enjoyable. They even allowed my to special order my car through the European Delivery program of BMW, which no other dealer would even consider (the car is not a usual Euro-Delvery Program vehicle). About a month before my scheduled trip to Germany, we were forced to postpone our trip, and Patty once again stepped in to help make all of the arrangements to put the delivery on hold. The purchase experinece was the best I have ever experienced.

When I bring the car back for service, the service and management at the dealer know me by name, and are always quick to talk with me, or offer me the keys to whatever new BMW they might have for a test drive. They are a small-ish dealer that has big dealer abilities and a small town feel. I highly recommend them. More
