We were sent a letter in the mail for a BMW Lease Opportunity. This opportunity was to return the car early without making remaining payments on the lease. We contacted BMW of Bridgeport, accepted Opportunity. This opportunity was to return the car early without making remaining payments on the lease. We contacted BMW of Bridgeport, accepted the deal, and scheduled the first available appointment. There was one remaining lease payment and we anticipated getting this money, for returning the car early. When my wife arrived at the appointment to return the car, BMW of Bridgeport did not know about the appointment even though we received two reminders from their automated system. My wife told the service desk that she was here for the early lease return and they seemed a bit confused but asked for her keys and directed her to the waiting room. The leasing manager (Susan) came out to talk with my wife and help with the return process. Susan seemed confused why my wife was there so she explained the letter we received and had made the arrangements to return the vehicle early so the last lease payment would be waived. Susan asked my wife to continue waiting while she looked into it. After a while she returned with the canceled plates and some documents for my wife to sign. The documents were for the car inspection, disposition fee, and odometer reading verification. She was then told the vehicle was not worth anything, and there would be no financial incentive for the early lease return. When my wife disagreed with this, Susan suggested they go back to her desk. When they sat down at Susan's desk she again said the car has no value and pointed to the fine print in the letter that states, "Subject to vehicle inspection and confirmation of vehicle history, mileage, and equipment. The opportunity letter that we received did not state anything about a re-evaluation at the time of return to determine the value of the car, and the inspection revealed the car was in perfect condition. Despite this she said my wife needed to sign the documents and there was no return of the last lease payment. My wife told Susan she was uncomfortable signing the document. Susan then said, I've already canceled the registration, do you want the car back? My wife then stated, no she was here to return the car per the letter agreement when she made the appointment. My wife felt coerced into signing the document and could not leave with the car because they had already canceled the registration. During the meeting Susan kept making comments that she could help my wife out if she was buying another BMW but she is not, she is no longer a customer and will now do nothing. More
