Courtesy Inspection Very pleased with the visit. They were very informative and I enjoyed the coffee break and donuts too. I would definitely recommend them to others. Very pleased with the visit. They were very informative and I enjoyed the coffee break and donuts too. I would definitely recommend them to others. Now I must tell you that another BMW dealer in the area told me that I had three different oil leaks that would require about $4000 to resolve. I asked the service techincian specifically if he had identified any oil leaks during his in depth inspection. Answer: NO I will never go back to the other dealer. More
Friendly staff, we were not pressured. Plently of options discussed to suit our needs. They were attentive to our needs and willing to work with us. discussed to suit our needs. They were attentive to our needs and willing to work with us. More
I recently purchased a Certified BMW in PA when I ran into mechanical problems in NJ. Since I live in Bel Air, MD I decided to take my vehicle in for service when I returned. When I got to BMW I spo into mechanical problems in NJ. Since I live in Bel Air, MD I decided to take my vehicle in for service when I returned. When I got to BMW I spoke with Gint. He is so funny and personable that I would definitely consider him as a friend. Anyway, I spoke of the issues that I encountered in NJ also providing pictures and left my X5 for service. 2 days later when I picked up my X5 it was like I purchased a new Certified BMW from BMW of Bel Air. They did the entire service and replaced my camera at no cost to me. I would definitely refer others to this dealership and moving forward if I ever buy another I would DEFINITELY without a second thought do so at BMW of Bel Air. More
I had a negative experience at this dealership last month and I want to be fair and thorough with the story. I took my BMW M3 to Bel Air about a month ago after the service engine soon light came on. The and I want to be fair and thorough with the story. I took my BMW M3 to Bel Air about a month ago after the service engine soon light came on. They were able to accommodate my schedule very well. After having the car in the shop for a few hours the service manager told me it needed a $1500 dollar repair. He walked me into the shop and showed me what they were going to change and I asked him and the tech if there was anything else I should consider fixing/replacing simultaneously. They said no and I signed off on the work. The part had to be ordered so I dropped the car back off for the 4-6 hour repair. Tom called and said the car was ready so the next morning I drove down (it's about an hour drive) to pick it up. When they pulled the car around the service engine soon light was still on. I went back inside and told Tom and he had them take it back into the shop. 10 minutes later I was shuffled out the door with Tom saying that they had "...cleared the fault and let's see how it goes." The SES light was already on again but I was late for work so I called Tom from the road. Without apologizing he said they needed to replace another part for over $1500 dollars to resolve the issue. Initially did not mention other problems even when I asked him specifically but now he tells me that the faults were there all along. I would have expected this kind of service from a local domestic shop that doesn't know BMW's. Both parts can be purchased authentically online for less than 500 dollars but were marked up approx. 100% on the invoices. I would be happy to pay that if it fixed my car but a local shop can scan the codes and start replacing parts for a lot less. (Resolution) Because I was dissatisfied with my experience I took the car to a highly recommended German specialty shop in PA. After being told the service history they tested the (second) part that Tom wanted to replace and found it working perfectly. The problem was a dirty wiring connection that they found and fixed for less than $250. It is likely that the initial repair from Bel Air was not needed and that changing those connections (by installing a new part) happened to eliminate that fault code. I cannot recommend BMW of Bel-Air because they not only failed the basic expectation that they would be able to fix my car the first time but also failed to acknowledge the avoidable inconvenience to which I was subjected. These folks knowingly sold me a defective car and did not disclose this information until 6-months after the purchase. After several visits starting a few days after I purchased the car. Numerous attempts disclose this information until 6-months after the purchase. After several visits starting a few days after I purchased the car. Numerous attempts to repairs, leaving the car for days to be tested and fixed… Nothing. BMW Bel Air strung me along; and in the end, they did not do the right thing. A $40,000.00 car and now I am stuck with it. I am very Disappointed. More
My experience with this dealership is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any dealership anywhere (and I've bought cars in over 5 different states and two foreign countries!). I should h experience I have ever had with any dealership anywhere (and I've bought cars in over 5 different states and two foreign countries!). I should have decided against visiting this dealership right after I spoke to "Jason". I was attempting to make an appointment for a test drive. He struck me as someone who had no idea why I was bothering him with such a request, making no effort to offer me times for the appointment or anything. I had to prompt him for each detail. Since appointments seemed to be an odd event for this dealership my business partner and I decided to drop in and see if we could see the vehicles we had identified on the dealership's web site. At the door we were greeted by Terry Hanlon. After asking us a few questions, he decided to help us, but he certainly seemed preoccupied and gave us the impression he was "squeezing us in". While he was friendly enough, he was not the type of person who would let you get a word in edgewise, nor did he seem particularly interested in what I wanted. He would talk over me as I was explaining what I wanted, he would go off on tangents, not answering my questions etc.. We were finally able to get him to slow down for a few seconds and find one of the vehicles we had selected. As we got into the car to view it, Terry stood next to the car as waiting for us to make a decision about the car based upon sitting in it. Since it didn't appear he was going to offer us to take it for a test drive, I told him we'd like to test drive it. He suggested we "drive it around the parking lot"!!!! Have you EVER had a dealership tell you that????? When he saw we were a bit shocked by this suggestion, he seemed to come a bit to his senses and decided he'd best get the tags for us. He was again in such a rush, it seemed that he just wanted to get us out of his hair. The car rumbled through the entire test drive. When we told Mr. Hanlon that there was a problem he did not offer to have a tech look at it, he did not offer to do anything that would resolve the matter, he simply stated it was because it was sitting in the lot and the tires had gotten flattened out. We were obviously not happy with that answer, so he found another car for us to test drive. However, he couldn't find the cars we had identified on the web site, so he gave us the first one that he had available. Needless to say, the car was not what I was looking for (and all the while this guy was racing around like he had a bee in his bonnet! Totally distracted, totally disinterested. He clearly wanted us to just disappear!). Since I didn't care for the car he dug up for us, he test drove the car (in the parking lot) that I did like (but rumbled) to see if it rumbled for him. His manager test drove it (in the parking lot - they have a thing for their parking lots! I wonder if BMW headquarters knows they can ease up on making performance engines as the new fad - at least in Bel Air - seems to be to drive it around in the parking lot!). Mr. Hanlon then emphatically stated the car I liked didn't rumble. Luckily both my business partner and I knew you can't determine that at low speeds, so we compelled him (after some arm twisting) to ride with us. Both my partner and I felt the rumble (albeit less than before). But Mr. Hanlon flatly denied that there was a problem. Since I liked the car, I was wondering if someone technical could take a look at the car and verify if it was simply a matter of the tires. Mr. Hanlon acted as if I were asking for the moon (when in my mind offering to have it looked at would have been the FIRST thing I would have done as a sales person!). He did get consent from his manager (who never introduced him or herself to us) to have a technician look at it. We also asked about certified pre-owned vehicles only to find out they don't have them any more as they want to sell cars cheaper. So, in all, I'd say if you buy from this dealership watch out! They are about selling volume, not about making sure you are leaving with the best possible solution for yourself. They want you in and out FAST, and they don't want to be bothered with silly things like getting something fixed! So becareful!!! More
I have purchased many, many new vehicles through the years....eleven new cars in 2010 alone, and so far, six in 2011. So you could say that I'm a bit of a car fanatic! My sales and delivery experience at BMW of Bel Air has to rank as one of the best I have ever had. They make you feel like you are a long time friend and not just another customer. At no time was there any pressure to buy, and most importantly, they were honest and straightforward in all their communications. I especially enjoyed the quiet atmosphere at the dealership....not the rat race encountered at some! I would highly recommend BMW of Bel Air and these two very knowledgeable gentlemen, Nic Brown and Scott Richmond. More

When I think of the times I have spent in the past at car dealerships, the very thought of going through the process of buying another car was somewhat stressful ... but I had no need to worry.
