We are very sorry you feel the diagnosis and repair on your 2004 X5 was mishandled. The complaints documented on the April 2011 repair order, which you signed were; Line B "while driving or at idle car will just cut out" and Line F "at idle the RPMs jump up and down and also slowing down" and Line H "low oil level warning light on". No where on the repair order did you ask us to check a "white smoke" problem, nor did we see "white smoke" as if we had noticed this, we would have added that to the 16 issues we recommended for repair. The running problems have been sucessfully repaired and this was verified during your return visit to our service department the first week of September; the car remains running properly. The external oil leaks identified and repaired for Line H are fixed and this area remains free of oil leaks. Of the 16 issues found on your X5, 3 were authorised for repair. There was no complaint of "white smoke" on the initial repair order. We have diagnosed the "white smoke" problem as worn valve stem seals and have provided an estimate for this repair.
