The complete process of finding and purchasing the right car for our needs was superb. Once we settled on the Outback, selected the color, options and accessories our advisor was able to locate and deliver the car within 24 hours. We were amazed at how efficient and painless the purchase process was with the Finance Manager. He also was extremely helpful in explaining Warranty and Maintenance options. From the moment we sat down to when we had the keys and drove off the lot with our new Outback was just under 30 minutes. Our experience with Bob Baker Volkswagen/Subaru was actually very enjoyable. In 2011 I purchased a used WRX Sti from a dealership in Arizona. I assumed this was a good investment because the car ran fine and no issues seemed apparent. After getting the car looked over at Subaru Carlsbad and purchasing an extended warranty for a Killer Deal (thanks to upper Management) I was on my way living the good life. The initial and continuous visits with BBSofC (Bob Baker Subaru of Carlsbad) was awesome. I was well informed given awesome advice on how to take care of the vehicle and just the overall experience with the staff was great. I felt i found a dealership I could trust (I know trust and dealership are not often used in the same sentence but this time they are). After a few oil changes I noticed i was consuming a large amount of oil. I informed BBSofC of my dilemma. They immediately went to work to diagnose the problem. They found the problem and then went to bat for me to Subaru of America to have the engine replaced. Can you say WOW. This had made my car buying and service experience awesome. Its almost unheard of a dealership taking their time to ensure the customer is taking care of and has a piece of mind to know that their issue will be resolved. Bob Baker Subaru of Carlsbad, Two thumbs up. Very informative, Communication is outstanding. and most all repair parts are usually on stock so the wait or repair time in minimal.. I've only owned GM vehicles all my life. Needed something newer than current car due to expanding family. Went in on a Thursday to look at a CPO Jetta or Passat. Went back Saturday after receiving pre approval for a Passat only to find the one I wanted had been sold Friday. Proceeded to re-test several vehicles, all of which were equal or higher quality (i.e. more expensive) to original Passat. Was offered a CPO 2008 Passat 4D Lux loaded with features for exact amount of preapproved loan. Kelley Blue Book of purchased car= $22,000. Total (sale, tax, title, etc) Spent= $17,000.00. Great way to become a member of the VW owners club. Hats off to Jimmy and John for making this a great deal. More
Service dept. Staff incl Service Manager Rick is unethical - BEWARE !!! Took my brand new 2011 VW Touareg in for what should have been a 15 min top off of Advlue fluid for the TDI. Instead, i unethical - BEWARE !!! Took my brand new 2011 VW Touareg in for what should have been a 15 min top off of Advlue fluid for the TDI. Instead, it turned into this dealer telling me they would not do work unless they were paid by the dealer that I purchased it from. They ended up lying to me about service errors I had on the car with only 130 miles on it when it was a simple clear that should have been done before delivery. They tried telling me they needed car overnight so they could drive around in it with a computer plugged into the vehicle. This seemed unusual and when I compared notes, I found conflicting stories between the service advisor, the tech, and the service manager who all seemed to be lying and/ or unknowledgable about the situation at the very least. I now understand why there are so many negative posts about this dealership. Glad I found out early as I will never bring my 11' Touareg TDI here again. More

Once I made my decision and went to Finance, it couldn't have gone any smoother. Once again, everything was explained in detail and questions were encouraged. They worked hard to get me a GREAT deal!!! Am looking forward to working with their service department when I hit 3,000 miles. While not the best looking dealership, by far the friendliest and relaxed as well as the best deal!!!! Would recommend them to all my family and friends More
I was looking for a new 2011 Volkwagen GTI when I stopped by Bob Baker Volkswagen to have a look. The 2011 models had not arrived yet, however the salesperson took the time to review all of the options and p by Bob Baker Volkswagen to have a look. He also informed me that the car I wanted with all of my specified options would be arriving in two weeks. Just like clockwork, the salesperson called me in exactly two weeks to let me know my car had just been delivered. Since I've got a busy schedule, I set an appointment with my salesperson to test drive the car. It was a 90 degree day, and the salesperson actually made sure that the car running with the air conditioner turned on so I wouldn't need to get into a hot car. How's that for service! He thoroughly explained all of the various features on the car before I took off for a test drive. When we returned to the dealership, we sat down and discussed all of my payment options. Once we had agreed on terms that I felt comfortable with, my salesperson introduced me to the finance manager who finalized all of the paperwork. Once I'd signed the documents, my salesperson carefully reviewed my warranty, covered some of the key information found in my ownwer's manual, and even set up my Bluetooth phone application for me. He also introduced me to the service manager, who scheduled my first complimentary maintenance visit. I was in and out in under two hours, and the whole experience was completely enjoyable from beginning to end. I'm having a blast with my new car, and my saleperson has even called me back a couple of times to follow up. I've recommended Bob Baker VW to all of my friends, and I'm sure that I will be doing business with them in the future. More
