I was actually on my way to buy a Toyota Rav 4 when I pulled into the dealership to look at the Forester one more comprehensive in his presentation. In talking to Bill and learning all of the improvements in the 2014 Forrester, I felt certain that a Subaru was the best car to meet my specific needs. I worked with a Costco agent to assure that I could get the Costco member pricing, and then I went ahead and made the purchase on a subsequent trip. Bill was able to get me the color I wanted within 24 hours. He is a personable man who really cares for his customers. Once I took delivery of my new car, Bill sat with me and explained many of its wonderful features. I came back the next day with my phone and garage opener and got them synced to the car as well. I am a happy customer and would definitely recommend "Billy" to anyone I meet who is interested in buying a car. Subaru is well-made and building a reputation in the U.S. for making excellent cars,and the dealership has a great reputation for standing behind their cars and customers. More

While shopping for a new car to replace our 2003 Honda Odyssey during the spring of 2012, we stopped at Bob Baker VW/Subaru in Carlsbad and had the good fortune to be helped by Jim Mirreghabie. Jim quickly erased our pre existing negative concepts about car sales people and listened carefully to our particular situation and needs. He suggested that he thought a Subaru Forester might be exactly what we were looking for, but also showed us a number of other alternatives for comparison. We took a test drive in a Forester with Jim and he thoroughly explained all the features of the car. We decided that it was indeed a good fit for our needs and proceeded to purchase a new 2012 Forester. We now have driven it more than 16,000 miles and have been very happy with the car and with the service we have received at Bob Baker. We really appreciate the help Jim provided and now also consider him as a good personal friend who we have recommended to a number of our friends should they ever consider purchasing either a Subaru of VW at Bob Baker. More

I came here because I was looking to buy my first brand new car. Yong Shin was super helpful and I couldn't have asked for a better salesman. I gave this dealership 5 stars for customer service and friendliness ONLY for Yong because he is a genuine and helpful guy. I didn't give this dealership 5 stars across the board because of all the inconvenience and hassle I experienced. First off, the morning after I drove my car home I found two dents on the car. It would be impossible for me to have been at fault because it was the very first day. Living all the way in Murrieta, I had to drive back down to Carlsbad because the dealership agreed to fix them. While my car was getting the dents removed, my homelink mirror and fog lights were going to be installed. I was told to pick up my car around 4 or 5 hours later. After those few hours have passed, I received a call saying that there was something wrong with the LED lights on the car so they had to keep it over night. I had to hitch a ride back home to Murrieta and it was a huge hassle. Being car-less I had to find a way back down to Carlsbad to pick up my car. Once I received my car, I went back home and inspected the car. The wrong mirror was installed without the homelink! I had to drive back down to Carlsbad once again! Subaru partially compensated for a rental car and installed the right mirror later that week. They said they were going to take care of the rental car situation but I still had to pay a $100 authorization fee that I never got compensated for. It was a lot of time and gas money spent to get my car how I wanted it. The following week, a bird pooped on my car while I was at work. I cleaned it and wiped it off and it left a yellow stain. I had a professional detailer come out to get it off and no luck.. I called one of the service managers and told him what happened. He accused me of a missing piece to my story saying that it was impossible for that to happen. He told me that there is no warranty on the paint due to exterior forces such as birds pooping on your car so he couldn't do anything about it. I was really upset and I pretty much had enough with this dealership at this point. I tell Yong my problems and he is always there doing the best to his power to help me out. All my hard earned money that I've been saving up for a nice brand new car since I've started working was turning out to be a mess because of this situation and that is why I gave the ratings I had. Although I'm very disappointed, I want to give credit to Yong for helping me out as best as he could and for standing out from a dealership like this. More
