Autonation Subaru Carlsbad responded

Hi Justin my name is Norman Amabile I am the service director at Bob Baker, when your vehicle arrived we scanned the computer which indicated the vehicle was modified unfortunately we can not repair vehicles that have a Cobb tuner in it. All indications point to this as your issue so Subaru warranty will not pay for that repair. If you remove the system we will gladly reinspect it again at no charge and we did wave the previous charges of $159.00. Also the reason for the wait time was because we had to contact Subaru and also I don't show you had a appointment but we did accommodate you by looking at your issue as a walk in. Thanks

Regardless if a car is modified or not your staff should treat everyone the same. Once “JP” noticed the accessport his demeanor changed. I work in the medical field an treat every patient the same. Showing respect, dignity an compassion knowing that no matter what condition or issues they have I provide excellent customer service. I would have gladly left a great review if I had experienced one. This has been an ongoing issue with your dealership every time I am forced to go there. Note to self if you can’t work on the car because of an accessport why don’t you tell the person you won’t work on it instead of wasting the entire day to tell them. I fixed the issue in less then an hour after I had 6 hours to research an find what could have been the issue. Anyways good luck with your dealership, I will not be recommending any friends, family or Subaru communities members to ever stop at this location. Sad day to be a Subaru owner in my opinion. I appreciate the wave of the diagnostic fee I lost an entires day pay because I was waiting to have my car rejected from being worked on.
