Clayton was outstanding to work with. He was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. When I buy again I will look to him to assist in the process. He was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. When I buy again I will look to him to assist in the process. More
While I got the car I wanted at a price that came down, any follow up with this dealership was horrible. They messed up the loan process for pushing the loan through to my credit union, which delayed and complicated the process, and when I tried to get in touch with ANYONE there, I got no response, only voicemail, no call backs, and nothing but hassle. There is more to a dealership than selling a car. Fix your issues.l More
I’m 2 hours and 30 minutes into a routine scheduled maintenance. Frustrating that I was just told an update was on the way. It’s an oil change and a tire rotation… Never had this issue at the Escondid maintenance. Frustrating that I was just told an update was on the way. Not a single post purchase contact. The person who sold me the car left in the middle of the deal so it was finalized by the intern. The finance person was rude (got mad because I asked to increase my down payment and he had to rewrite the paperwork). He would also ask me to step out of his office to give him privacy multiple times. Most shocking though, not one person reached out to say a simple thanks for the business, check on me see if I need info, nothing! I bought a Subaru for my wife two months ago - received personal texts from the sales person, a call and email from the manager, a gift card for allowing them to go over the features of the car, multiple requests for reviews. You really can see they sincerely cared about my purchase experience. Not Mazda… super underwhelming and disappointing. No wander the dealership was empty. More
For a few weeks I was going around town trying to find a good first car for me. I found a 2014 used dodge challenger with great price, low mileage, well taken care. I live a smidge over 50 miles from the dealership, but Fred drove the car up to me to test drive. Pretty dedicated, even if it is for a sale. I greatly appreciated it. Upon deciding I wanted the car; Fred made it easy to fill out all the paperwork from a distance and handle what was needed prior to picking up the car. The day of finalizing everything took some time. When I arrived at the dealership in the morning, the Finance Manager was not there. There was quite a bit of waiting for him to get there and get the paperwork ready. Teddy, the Finance Manager, was also very friendly, upbeat, and funny. The paperwork was explained well and very thorough. He did push a bit much on adding extra services for the car, but I get it. That's when the happiness fades. Since owning the car, I've had a few issues come up with the car. Within a few days, I noticed the car was having some trouble starting. It was a battery issue. I took the car to my local Mazda dealer because I def wouldn't be driving it 50 miles to get serviced each time. The local dealer said the battery was bad. It confused me because, per all the paperwork, the battery was in good condition. Mazda took care of the battery as a warranty, which was great, but just a bit crappy. Around that time, I noticed that the car was slightly pulling to the right AND the steering wheel started to peel. When I contacted Carlsbad Mazda about this, I was sort of made to feel bad or that I may not know what I was talking about. None the less, I was told by Farrukh, the Sales Manager, that I can take it to a local AutoNation dealer and have it checked. Upon doing so, the car was misaligned on the front right of the car. The alignment was handled and is driving correctly now. When it comes to the steering wheel, I was told they would have to replace the whole steering wheel. In order to do that, they would have to get some type of authorization from Mazda first. But since the car is CPO, it would be considered "wear and tear" and likely not cover it. But Farrukh or his Parts Manager did not bother to ask Mazda because it would be declined. To me, to not even ask, is a shortcoming of theirs. To be told, a steering wheel peeling after barely 2 years is "wear and tear" is 100% unacceptable to me. At this time, I would NOT recommend Carlsbad Mazda to a friend or family. 1/9/24 UPDATE: Have not heard anything back from Carlsbad Mazda about my issues. Seems like they just want to wash their hands of the situation. More
