Very simply. the vehicle was posted for $32,995 and within an hour, we had a customer leave a deposit on the vehicle. Subsequent to that, we received over a dozen inquiries about the vehicle within a period of just a few hours. We told every caller that we took a deposit however we'd be happy to give them a call back if the deal fell through. The customer who left the deposit subsequently decided to purchase another vehicle, so we put this vehicle back up for sale. At that point, we contacted all the customers who had called previously and let them know the vehicle was available, however the price was adjusted due to the overwhelming interest we had in the vehicle. There was never any commitment to sell the vehicle to this reviewer. If there was, we would certainly have honored that commitment. While lowering a price is much more common, there are rare occasions when we'll raise the price of a vehicle due to market conditions or updated information. Respectfully, Bill S., Dealer Principal

A review of the file clearly shows that we presented 2 options, one with a the recommended products and one without. That is standard procedure here and just about everywhere else. Once he told us he was not interested in purchasing the products, we prepared the purchase order. NOTHING was added to the purchase order and never is until the product is formally accepted. It is every dealer's obligation to present their customers with the products they feel might protect the customer in the event of a mechanical breakdown or a total loss. If the customer agrees, they often purchase them. If they decide they don't want them, they are asked to sign a document declining them. This customer seemed to be offended that they were even offered, not realizing the fact that a dealer can be held legally liable in the event of a loss if they fail to offer them. The customer was combative from the start which is what prompted one of our finance managers to make the comment the customer took issue with. He was simply trying to explain that we had worked hard just to secure the approval in light of the fact that the customer had over $50,000 in outstanding tax liens, and there was no need to be so combative. The comment was made only in the presence of the sales associate who was already involved in the transaction and aware of the situation. We understand that some customers may feel that they need to come in to a dealership in an aggressive manner but it's simply not necessary here. Our dealership is no haggle and no pressure. The options are presented properly and professionally, and if you have credit issues, we'll work hard to secure an approval. While I regret this situation, I feel confident that 99% of our customers would tell you their experience here was a positive one. Sincerely, Bill S., Dealer Principal
