The only thing I suggest is that if you have your heart set on something you've seen online , better check cuz they need to take the cars down as soon as they sell. But Toney was great. I was greeted by a very professional and kind soul, Paul Smith. This young man was very courteous, knowledgeable, patient and very intuitive of his customer (me). The process of choosing a vehicle was not stressful nor did I feel pressured. I could not be more happy and satisfied with my Dodge Journey, (exactly what i was looking for). Our dealer showed us the vehicle, as well as a few others. We had to leave to pick up our daughter from school, but made plans to come back at 5:15 for a test drive while she was at dance lessons. We arrived for the test drive. The vehicle had been cleaned up nicely & ran well. We were all set to purchase!! We picked our daughter up from dance right around the corner & came back at approximately 6:15 pm to do the paperwork. We were assured it wouldn't take long (the first of many lies). Our dealer Eddie "forgot" to save our info in his computer, so we had to go through it all... again... with 2 hungry children. (If you've ever been around a 3 year old who missed his nap AND dinner, and a bored 7 yr old, you'll understand). So, we're done... finally about 7:45. The manager Toney Dawson comes up with the news.. "I'm sorry but your vehicle has ALREADY BEEN SOLD". What?!? How in the heck?!? Should someone not have caught that before wasting our time? Disorganization and lack of concern for others seems to be par for the course here. We left, obviously irritated, hungry, and exhausted, and with no new car. They had the nerve to ask if there was another vehicle we were interested in!! Ha!! As if we trust y'all!! Something seems fishy, and I'm still pissed. So.... my daughter emailed them with my assistance TODAY to check availability. What do you know? It's STILL AVAILABLE!!!! These people are CROOKED, and I'm so glad we didn't waste our money lining their pockets. They don't give a crap about anyone. Transcript from phone call today is in the comments. rip off. if youre looking for a used car go anywhere else Some shady people Even their name "Automaxx" They want you to think they are affiliated with a reputable company "Automax" but they arent....th Some shady people Even their name "Automaxx" They want you to think they are affiliated with a reputable company "Automax" but they arent....they add that extra X to their name. They sold me a used car. Supposedly did this 72 point inspection etc. They drove it down to me, was supposed to arrive in the afternoon so I could have my mechanic check it out. They arrived at 7:30 at night. Couldnt even see it to do a visual inspection properly, he was using his cell phone to try and light it up to inspect it... Really? So during the test drive, it was pulling, he said it needed an alignment. Which should have been done. He rode with his arm on the center console so I wouldnt know that every single little bump the lid comes flying open. And it wasnt an alignment....it was front end work that needed to be done along with engine work the first week. Then it warmed up and I found out the AC was trash and needs to be replaced. The baffles/doors for the AC/heat are also messed up. The rear speakers dont even work. I could go on but you get the picture. Shame on them for being such underhanded dealing people. Shame on me for taking their work for it and not wanting them to have to drive it all the way back to S.C. I have bought a lot of cars in my life, this is hands down the worst. Even the $300 beaters I bought when I was young didnt have as much wrong with is as this. Then trying to get customer service. Good luck, once you sign on the line all of a sudden no one is available and no one returns your calls. One guys voice mail says leave a message and then promptly hangs up on you every single time. These people are rip off artists. Make it nice and shiny and dont fix anything. Even their salesman admitted to me their inspection was garbage. Turn around and find another dealer if youre looking to buy used. I wouldnt buy even new because if you have an issue you cant talk to anyone. Yep, they got me good on this one. More
