I wouldn't wish my experience with Automaxx of the Carolinas in Summerville, SC, on my worst enemy. We bought a newer used truck for our son, thinking we were getting a reliable vehicle, but it didn't Carolinas in Summerville, SC, on my worst enemy. We bought a newer used truck for our son, thinking we were getting a reliable vehicle, but it didn't even last 30 days before we were confronted with the fact that it needed a complete transmission replacement. A truck that's supposed to be 'newer' shouldn't break down that quickly—there's something seriously wrong with their quality control. Their so-called 90-day warranty? A total joke. It doesn't cover the repair completely, leaving us with a substantial bill. When I discussed this with the manager, he had the audacity to say, 'That's why we tried to sell you additional warranty packages.' So, they were aware the truck had issues and merely wanted to sell us more to protect themselves? That's not right. Meanwhile, the salesperson we worked with related a story about a diesel truck he sold that also required a transmission replacement—and how Automaxx 'took care of it' and even provided a rental car. It's curious how that support did not extend to us. We received no such assistance—just excuses and an arrogant attitude. This dealership is a nightmare. They don't stand behind what they sell, and they'll leave you in a difficult situation the moment something goes wrong. Avoid Automaxx of the Carolinas at all costs—unless you enjoy wasting money and dealing with unhelpful, dishonest individuals. Never again. More
Was unknowingly charged $2550 for a service contract I did not and never would have authorized, especially being that I was from out of state only there temporarliy, and probably never would have been bac did not and never would have authorized, especially being that I was from out of state only there temporarliy, and probably never would have been back there to use it if needed, and I am a mechanic anyway, and fix all my own vehicles. The car I purchased was wrecked previously which i was aware of, but not fixed properly. I was in a stessful situation with my previous car among other things, and this was at the height of covid, and I really dont appreciate being taken advantage of. I had worked a 12 hour day and was exhausted, and it was closing time and somehow they slipped the service contract in on me. I did not have time to deal with the issues with the car as I was only in town temporarily for work, but I am sure i would have gotten the runaround anyway. They refuse to refund the money, saying too bad you signed for it basically, and the fact that a significant amount of time has passed, and I just realized the charge recently. Everything was signed on a digital pad so its not like i was looking at the actual numbers when I signed. Either way they should make it right, especially since the service was never used, and they sold me a car with shotty repair work. If they dont make it right after this review, I will be contacting the BBB and consumer protection agency, and legal counsel. Deceptive and shady practices period. More

They text, emailed, and called to make sure we were going to keep our appointment. But never once mentioned the vehicle had been sold. We did however find another vehicle that day… for a considerable amount more then the first that we wanted to buy. One month and 1000 miles after purchase we had an issue with the brakes. When we scheduled to have them look at it we were told to bring it in and they would inspect it. When we arrived they wanted $155 for a diagnostic fee… which was never mentioned previously. We declined the service. The same day and time I had an appointment to test drive another vehicle for myself. For the price of $42,000. This was the second time I had scheduled a test drive. This vehicle… like the one before it, and the one we had scheduled for my wife. Was not available. Yet they had not contacted me to let me know. They however had called, emailed, and text me multiple times again to make sure I would be showing up. The salesman that I was supposed to meet was also not even available. After such a poor customer service experience I decided to leave without even considering another purchase. This dealership is only about making sales and collecting money. They do not care about the customer or after care. I will be spending my hard earned money elsewhere. And for anyone considering buying from them beware. There are many other dealerships to work with in this area. Automaxx is not the place you want to do business. More
They seem legitimate but they aren't. Purchased a vehicle that needed service and the service manager was condescending and rude and tried to charge me what they had to cover. The car als Purchased a vehicle that needed service and the service manager was condescending and rude and tried to charge me what they had to cover. The car also ended up being a deep hole of repairs after the other warranties ran out. We thought we were getting a good deal but we were ultimately swindled. DO NOT buy a vehicle here. More
Review of Automaxx: I recently purchased a car from Automaxx, and my experience has been disappointing due to several issues with the vehicle that should have been addressed or disclosed during their i Automaxx, and my experience has been disappointing due to several issues with the vehicle that should have been addressed or disclosed during their inspection process. First, I discovered that the cabin filter and windshield wipers had not been replaced, which are basic maintenance items that any reputable dealership should check and update before selling a vehicle. These issues were minor but indicated a lack of thoroughness. More concerning, the oil pressure sensor had been improperly repaired with electrical tape by a previous owner. This is a critical component of the car, and such a substandard repair is unacceptable. The dealership claims they had no way of noticing this because the check engine light was not on, but a proper inspection should have revealed this issue regardless of warning lights. Selling a vehicle with a hidden and improperly repaired part feels negligent, especially since this defect was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase. While I initially trusted [Dealership Name], this experience has made me question their inspection processes and commitment to ensuring the vehicles they sell are safe and properly maintained. If you’re considering buying a car here, I highly recommend having an independent mechanic thoroughly inspect the vehicle before finalizing your purchase. More

Please reconsider if you are considering buying a car through AutoMaxx of the Carolinas online process. My recent experience with this dealer is probably the worst I have ever had buying a car. If you h through AutoMaxx of the Carolinas online process. My recent experience with this dealer is probably the worst I have ever had buying a car. If you have ever purchased from a used car dealer, you know that's saying a lot. You will experience the run-around, multiple changes in the pricing as you go along, $1385 in dealer fees (regardless of the vehicle), and so on it goes. I won't give you a whole spiel that's to long read, just please reconsider your decision. There are a lot of decent car dealers out there; Automaxx is not one of them. More
I purchased a car June 2024, paid cash. The dealer recorded a lien in error on the title. I called and spoke with Ashley at dealership who was very rude and told me to fix the problem myself. I never received the title because a bank that I have no account or relationship with now has a lien listed on my title AND the title. I requested the phone number of this bank and Ashley told me to google it. I never expected such rude and discourteous treatment when I just want a clean title to my car. I understand that people make mistakes, but conducting oneself in a professional manner and correcting your mistakes is all that any customer would want to experience. One employee (Ashley) made my buying experience a truly negative one. Justin was the best salesperson to work with you could ever experience. I would have never purchased a car from them knowing I would not receive a title. More
