Beware of this dealership!! Do not trust this dealership! I live in Oklahoma City and found a 2003 Land Rover Discovery for sale on autotrader. I called and spoke with Matthew se Do not trust this dealership! I live in Oklahoma City and found a 2003 Land Rover Discovery for sale on autotrader. I called and spoke with Matthew several times about the vehicle's condition, whether they did an inspection on the vehicle, and what, if any, work was done by the previous owner. Matthew told me that they did a full inspection and the only thing wrong was that it needed a new battery, so they put one in. Other than that, he assured me that the car was mechanically sound. After all of our chatting, I made the hour long drive (one way) to Shawnee to test drive the vehicle and take it to a local mechanic for a second opinion (2003/2004 Discovery are known to have some mechanical problems and I wanted to be sure I wouldn't run into any major issues). Max was the salesperson who helped me when I arrived. I asked if I could take it to a mechanic and, after giving them a copy of my Driver License, proof of insurance, and signing a piece of paper about 6 times, they let me take it off the lot. When I got to the mechanics, he told me it would take about 30-45 minutes for the full inspection and it would cost around 50 bucks. After about 5 minutes at the shop the guy walked in and said "Do NOT buy that car! You would need to completely rebuild the frame for it to be safe to drive.". He then showed me several pictures taken of the undercarriage showing massive holes where rust had eaten away at the frame! There was a giant hole bigger than my head right where the driver's seat sits!! I was horrified. The mechanic told me he would not charge for the inspection since he had only just gotten under the car when he saw the extensive damage. After finding this out I took the car back to AutoMax and informed them of the damage and that the vehicle was not safe to drive. Neither Max nor Matthew seemed worried about the damage at all! They told me it was a 2003 and you shouldn't expect it to be in perfect condition. Are you serious, AutoMax?? This is a death trap and IT IS STILL CURRENTLY LISTED for $8,799 on your website and AutoTrader. Shame on you all! Hopefully no one will be fooled into buying this lemon. More
