August 27, 2024: We were towing a 5th wheel on day one of an extended vacation when our RAM gasser had a major transmission failure. A suitable replacement 2500 diesel was on the Autostar of Hendersonville lot. The "used truck" they had was in good shape and drove well, so we signed the deal. Management was gracious to allow us to boon-dock overnight in their back lot allowing us to shift all the towing components over to the new truck. However, while I was installing the 5th wheel hitch and standing in the bed, I noticed on the cab top serious dents and scrapes, all the way down to bare metal with flaking rust. Apparently, the previous owner drove it into a low parking garage. This damage is not observable unless you are standing in the bed nor was it pointed out by the salesman or listed in the super clean Carfax. I brought the damage to the Sales Manager's attention and in discussion, phrases like "You bought it as is" and "It's minor damage" were stated. I truly believe he was just as surprised to see this damage, but I was disappointed that he used these words in our conversation. I also believe Autostar of Hendersonville missed this damage on their trade-in inspection when they took possession! After some back and forth, and to their credit Autostar of Hendersonville produced a "We Owe You" paper that said they would fix the damage when our extended trip was completed. That was a perfect and desired solution and allowed the deal to be sealed. I was a happy customer as I drove away to meet our adventure, and I provided several reviews heaping praise for their work with us during this stressful situation. Fast forward to the repair. We live 2.5 hours away from Hendersonville so I thought it reasonable to get a "local to me" quote for the repair. My local body shop quoted $1728 and said the headliner would have to be dropped and the damage worked out before filling and painting. I sent the quote to Autostar of Hendersonville and they declined the offer, advising me to bring the truck in for the body work. We scheduled the repair and drove the 5 hours round trip to the dealership. Today was pickup day. The headliner had not been dropped and the repair to the cab roof is NOT even up to high school body shop standards. Is it painted the same color? YES. Are the gouges filled? YES. Is the paint smooth? NO, and the roof shows a 3/8" negative dip in the middle of the cab. Is it fixed properly? NO WAY. Most disappointing is the Management of this organization. In the end the "We Owe" was offered to retain the deal and it was accepted gladly, but the quality and level of work behind the "we owe" is not acceptable for any business standard. More

Vehicle was under priced by dealership error and instead of honoring price did raise price by nearly $3,000. Purchased vehicle listed features in description that were not installed on the vehicle. When asking about those specific features during test drive was misled by salesman. Still have not received vehicle title and settlement check was 1 week late. Would deal with this dealership again after meticulous scrutiny & caution. More
