The entire process of buying my new car was great from start to finish. Marcel didn’t stop until he got me driving home what I wanted with payments I could afford. He was kind, fun to work with, and helpf start to finish. Marcel didn’t stop until he got me driving home what I wanted with payments I could afford. He was kind, fun to work with, and helpful. Buying a car is notoriously not fun, but he actually made it as enjoyable as it could be! More
Great experience! Everyone was very courteous. I fully recommend them. It took longer of what I was expecting but they made up at the end with a full tank of gas. Than Everyone was very courteous. When buying a car from AutoNation St. Louis, make sure you are happy enough with the car that you don’t need any follow up work. Make sure it does not require a return visit. Return visits and follow up maintenance are an afterthought for these guys. They want to move as many cars off the lot as possible and won’t fulfill their agreements. I realize this is typical for any used car dealership, but AutoNation St. Louis is no different. So be mindful of this when you shop there. - My car buying experience worked out well. In one day we found a car, worked out the financing and left the lot with a car we love. Deangelo was our salesperson. - There was some cosmetic work that sill needed to be done. AutoNation St. Louis agreed to cover up some small paint chips and scratches in a follow up visit. - I dropped the car off to get the service done. I was out of town for a week. This gave them plenty of time to wrap things up. I spoke with 2 different individuals and we agreed on the pickup date. One was a member of the service department. When I dropped off the car, we did a walk around and she confirmed they were good to move forward. - I called the day before pickup to make sure the car was ready. The person I spoke with said the manager was out of town. She didn’t know too much. It was a fishy conversation and I could tell they hadn’t done the work yet. - The next day, I called ahead before driving a half hour to pick up the car. Turns out it was sitting on their lot all week and no one touched it. FAIL! - The Service Manager was out of town. I spoke with a couple different people. Ended up on the phone with Rich, a Director from a different department. Rich pushed it through. By this time my window had closed, so I picked it up the next day. - Upon inspection of my car, they didn’t make all the cosmetic changes agreed upon. Rich explained that this was never possible because it required body work. I really wish Rich was around to tell me this during the sale. I needed my car, so after some back and forth I decided not to play hard ball and left the lot pissed off. BAD EXPERIENCE WITH AUTONATION ST. LOUIS. The quality of customer service drops once you roll of the lot. And they don’t honor their agreements. BONUS ISSUE: Everyone at AutoNation St. Louis says they’ll fill up your tank before you leave. Deangelo threw this in as part of the sale. Rich said he’d fill up my tank to make up for the service issues. Listen, I can afford my own gas. But if you’re going to offer it, then you should do it. I had to remind Deangelo a couple times. Rich never did! LOL More
