After dealing with dealership after dealership, this one has been the most incredible experience. After seeing the different cultures, and feeling the different vibes of every other dealership, AutoNation U has been the most incredible experience. After seeing the different cultures, and feeling the different vibes of every other dealership, AutoNation USA Hilton Head were THE FIRST to catch my attention. To have the MANAGER come out to shake my hand after only being there for a minimum of 10 minutes was such a relief. Thank you to Salesman Andrew, Manager Gary, and Financial Manager Mel, you guys were phenomenal and incredibly patient. I’ve got to say, it was a real blessing running into these guys. If I recommend anyone to ANY dealership it will be yours. More
Purchased a vehicle in June. I have been arguing since the beginning of July to get a tag and registration for this vehicle. Phone calls, emails, text, all unsolved. It is illega I have been arguing since the beginning of July to get a tag and registration for this vehicle. Phone calls, emails, text, all unsolved. It is illegal for us to drive this vehicle the way it is, yet they do not care, but we have to make a payment on a vehicle we cannot drive. Get told someone will call you back, no response. You cannot even get the general manager on the phone. When purchasing the vehicle, was told I was the co-signer, yet they changed it up so that I am the co-owner without informing us of the change. They literally told us they made it happen to get it where it needed to be. Tires are bare and need to be replaced, replaced multiple lights that were out or defective, struts and shocks need to be fixed. I am beyond disgusted with the service they have provided us. More than 60 days without a tag is unacceptable. More
TLDR: bought a car and three hours later the brakes fail, left without a vehicle for a week because will not reimburse for rental or ship my trade-in to a closer location, walked back entire deal, told us my left without a vehicle for a week because will not reimburse for rental or ship my trade-in to a closer location, walked back entire deal, told us my vehicle I traded in was in the Hilton Head location still, drove 4.5 hours there only to be told it was in Atlanta, said an employee would drive my husband 4.5 hours back to NC and they'd ship my car. LIKE I ASKED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. Horrible company. Full story: These was the absolute worst experience of my entire life. My husband and I drove 4.5 hours from NC to buy a used car. Test drove it, everything seemed fine. So we traded in my vehicle and purchase this car. Not even three hours into our drive home, the entire brake system fails. Despite having a 50 point inspection, insuring that all systems were in good condition. Next morning, we call the manager and he asks to take it to a Toyota to be diagnosed (claiming they'll reimburse us). Just what we thought, the brake system needs replaced. So then we drive the car to a different AutoNation location to drop it off for their mechanics. At first, they tell us we need to take it back to Toyota because this brake system is under warranty. Well, no it's not and we even have them call Toyota to confirm this. Next day, manager calls us back and says they aren't fixing the brake system and will instead walk back the entire deal and give us the trade in back. Cool, except now we don't have a car. I also am out my entire down payment, have hard inquiries on my credit from a loan that is now going to be null, etc. AutoNation refuses to reimburse for a rental or ship my car to a closer location to where we live in NC. Basically they won't do anything to even remotely make this more convenient to us. So now Friday my husband calls to make sure my trade in vehicle is still at the Hilton Head location. We have to pull all kinds of favors to get him a ride out there (4.5 hours) to pick it up, as again WE DON'T HAVE A CAR and I have to be at work. Well. Well, well, well folks. My husband makes the drive with a friend and arrives at the dealership just to be told MY CAR IS IN ATLANTA. Like at this point, this feels like a joke. The total lack of competency and communication is mind blowing from a huge corporation. When my husband asks how they are going to get my car to us and him back to NC, well they say a salesman will drive him home (4.5 hours). That's right, an EMPLOYEE WILL DRIVE HIM HOME. And they'll ship my car to me. Okay, so you can ship cars to other locations....so why didn't you just offer that when we asked to avoid ANY of this? As of right now, my husband has talked them into paying for a rental car (and had them put it in writing) so he can drive himself home. I never write poor reviews, but this has been a nightmare from start to finish and this company did NOTHING to make up for their total failure. All that was needed was for them to offer to pay for a rental and ship my car to my house (since that's what were doing now, a week later anyways). I will never, ever ever purchase a car through them again and have already warned everyone and their mom to avoid this place like the plague. Like how are you this awful? It makes no sense. So anyways, thanks for a terrible experience and for making my life incredibly difficult and not doing anything at all to make up for it. Love that for me. And if I don't get my trade-in in the condition I left it in, my deposit refunded to my bank account, my husband home safely with the rental reimbursed, with these ridiculous credit inquiries off my account, I might just honestly drop dead from how stupid this all is. I want to share a special experience I recently had selling my car to AutoNation. AutoNation wasn’t on my radar as a purchaser of cars so I decided to eliminate them from consideration. I called Sara selling my car to AutoNation. AutoNation wasn’t on my radar as a purchaser of cars so I decided to eliminate them from consideration. I called Sarah my contact at AutoNation to let her know of my decision. Sarah convinced me I needed to come and see what AutoNation could do. When I arrived for my appointment I learned that Sarah had a family emergency but she had briefed her fellow sales person Michael on our conversations and he was prepared to help me. After Michael sat down and talked with me he told me he wanted to get his Sales Manager Raffe involved. Sarah, Michael and Raffe make a great team. I am really glad I listened to Sarah! I am very pleased with my total experience at AutoNation. More
