Scheduled 2nd ATF service for my vehicle at 113K miles (prior ATF service was done by a different Toyota dealer at 75K miles). I made sure that AutoNation had all the details (mileage, age, prior service (prior ATF service was done by a different Toyota dealer at 75K miles). I made sure that AutoNation had all the details (mileage, age, prior service records, etc) before the appointment. I drove for an hour only to be told by the service writer that they do not do ATF service on vehicles past 100K miles. They want to sell you a new car, hoping that it breaks down soon, so they could sell you another. More
my car has something damaged in the driver's seat and I've been waiting 6 months for a solution and 7 trips to the workshop, I'm still waiting for them to call me to solve it and nothing. I brought my vehicle in for a charging system issue. Service department said it needed an alternator but they didn't have one in stock. Being that it was Saturday and they wouldn't receive one until Monday afternoon I purchased one and took it to the dealership to be installed. The service agent said that they don't warrant parts provided by customers which is normal. I requested that they keep my original part. After not receiving any communication from the service agent, I called the following Tuesday and was told that the part I brought in didn't work and was told they could have a part in Wednesday evening. I called my parts store to see if they had another alternator in stock and they did but I decided to let AutoNation source the part and let them know to replace the alternator and to provide me with the original alternator AND the one that I provided them that didn't work. They agreed. Wednesday and Thursday there was no communication. Friday I called to receive and update and was told my vehicle was ready. I went to the location to pick up the vehicle and shared my displeasure with the lack of communication with the agent. When I asked when the vehicle was ready he said it was done that Friday afternoon. He also told me I would be charged for the installation of the first and second alternator. They provided me with one alternator in the box that I brought and when I asked about the second alternator, a show was made of trying to find the second alternator to no avail. I was told the tech had gone home. After payment I received the paperwork showing that the repair was actually completed on Thursday. I paid double for labor for the installation of both alternators but my guess is in the day between the job being completed the second alternator got disposed of before I ever came back to the dealership- if there was ever a second alternator. When I went to return the allegedly defective part to the store, we discovered that it was the original alternator, not the one I purchased. The salesman showed me one in box that matched mine but the two parts didn't match. So not only did I pay for the installation of two alternators, I couldn't return the one I purchased from the store for a refund. More
The dealership has always been impressive. They communicate very well and offer Uber rides and other benefits to people in the waiting room. They communicate very well and offer Uber rides and other benefits to people in the waiting room. More
