Connor was an incredible help as we tried to find a car in a hurry that met our needs. It was a low-pressure environment and everyone was kind and helpful. We love the RAV4! in a hurry that met our needs. It was a low-pressure environment and everyone was kind and helpful. We love the RAV4! More

This is a long review so hang tight: I was buying my first really nice car. I have a long history of old cars with a lot of miles. My most recent vehicle was a gift from my parents. I've never spent my first really nice car. I have a long history of old cars with a lot of miles. My most recent vehicle was a gift from my parents. I've never spent my own money on a nice vehicle. It was time. I had done my research and felt that the Toyota Rav4 was the right car for me. I wanted to buy from Toyota Spokane Valley because I felt they would be experts and would have high-quality cars. I bought a 2020 Rav4 Adventure with 66k miles. Not brand new but still a $30k really nice car. My sales associate was Paul G. and Paul was awesome. Kind and efficient. Knowledgable. He did a great job and got me into the car I wanted with a payment that fit my budget. Paul gets 5 stars! I called Paul early the next day to let him know that the check engine light was on and I was concerned because we were going out of town. He assured me that it was probably a minor issue and that I could feel safe to drive 600 miles in the next couple of days. He scheduled a maintenance appointment and was really helpful. The maintenance appointment was for 2 pm on the day we were getting back from being out of town and I wasn't able to make it so I rescheduled. The available times for my schedule pushed the date a little too far out for my comfort. I reviewed my contract and saw that I had a 5-day money-back guarantee and was on day 5. I wanted to exercise that return if the check engine light was connected to a larger issue. I called Paul to let him know my feelings and he said to bring the car into the service center asap. I brought the car in and asked for it to be diagnosed right then as it was noon and I wanted to know the code as soon as possible to make a decision about the car. The service desk guys treated me poorly. It was noon and everyone was out to lunch and they talked to me like I was some dumb girl that hadn't just purchased a $30,000 vehicle that had a check engine light on. I asked if someone could just check the code. I know that checking a code is a simple process. Diagnosing the car based on that code is a longer process of course. But I just wanted to know the code and asked for someone to take a look. The pushback I got and the patronizing tone was astounding. I hate asking for a manager but I had no choice. I asked to talk to the sales manager to let him know what was happening and my concern with the 5-day money back guarantee limitations. I wanted to return the vehicle if it had a larger issue and I didn't feel we were going to get that simple code that day. The sales manager did make me feel more valued and walked me through their reasoning and process and offered for me to take a car home while they looked at mine. He also assured me that they would honor the money back guarantee regardless of the number of days it took to diagnose the car. This is where the review really comes into play. I want to shout out Jamie Burns the Service Drive Manager. Jamie is the only one that thought to actually take a look at the car. To take a look at the check engine light message because it turns out, it wasn't a check engine light. It was a "Maintenance required" message that means the car is ready for a tire rotation or oil change. She assured me that my car was not ready for an oil change or tire rotation and that the message wasn't cleared previously. She was so incredibly helpful and smart and kind. She talked to me like a person. How was I to know!? I was just scared I had made a bad choice on a bunk car. I'm in the business of Customer Success. I troubleshoot technology with people every da and we always start with the fundamental basics. Like simple as "Did you try restarting it?" Had someone taken the time to ask me what the message was that I was seeing we could have saved a lot of anxiety, fear, and time. I'm so grateful for Jamie. She helped me feel confident in my choice. I was about to return that car and buy a Subaru. 5 stars for Jamie! More
