Recently my wife and I purchased a 2021 Corolla Hybrid. When we entered the lot, we knew we wanted to look at a used Honda Insight hybrid that we had seen online. We worked with Bob Allen, he helped us When we entered the lot, we knew we wanted to look at a used Honda Insight hybrid that we had seen online. We worked with Bob Allen, he helped us find the car we came to look at, and then also helped us find a couple more cars to check out as well that were within our specifications or pretty close to. While worked with Bob Allen on the AutoNation Toyota lot. He was good about answering questions we had, letting us take it for a decent test drive, and most importantly while we were at his computer searching for cars we wanted to look at Bob was extremely good at keeping our requests in mind, and not trying to push us into a car that is either way out of our budget, or just not what we were looking for at all. The only pain part of the entire purchasing process was while we were working through the financing portion where at this point the person at this step was a little more pushy about saying we should get X or Y, or X Y and Z packages (all of which being various protection packages in some form or another). All of which have their uses, we just knew what we did and did not want, and had no desire to be told multiple times after we've said we didn't want X that we should in fact purchase X. Ultimately though, he was doing his job and we came out of the dealership with a new(to us) car and are happy with the result! We purchased this car exactly a week ago, have driven it a ton, and have only had to fill it up 1 time with about 10.5 to 11 gallons of fuel and we are averaging roughly 50mpg, extremely satisfied currently. Also as a side note, the internal tools that the salesman can use to search / sort / and filter the cars that they have access to should absolutely be implemented on the AutoNation website. In our case we were looking for a car that was under a certain budget and had a good fuel economy. It took a matter of about 3 clicks and then everything was sorted on his page within our budget and the highest fuel economy car at the very top of the first page with very little extra 'frills' on the page. I understand that a a lot of the way that the public facing website is, is due to marketing purposes. I feel at the very least, it should be an option to have it look the way it does for the salesman, because at least for me, it is a way better experience to look at all of the information and different cars that way.
