I took my wife's 4 Runner in to get looked at because the check engine light was on. Bill Ezell-assist service manager, told me it was the catalytic converter and the price tag was about $1000 but he'll give check engine light was on. Bill Ezell-assist service manager, told me it was the catalytic converter and the price tag was about $1000 but he'll give me a 10% discount. I told him to fix it because my back was against the wall, the car failed emissions because of the check engine light. So, he calls me 5 hours later to tell me that his tech could not get a "piece" he needed off of the old converter to put on the new one and in trying to remove it he stripped it. Bill told me the additional cost about be about $100(almost the exact amount of the discount he offered). I asked him why am I responsible for your tech stripping the "piece" and why are you using an old "piece" for a new converter. His response, "These things happen." So, after a 10 minute or so back and forth I told him to go ahead. He calls me later to tell me that the car was ready, I asked him if my wife had mentioned the brakes. His response,"Oh, I forgot! Tell her to bring it back tomorrow and I'll check them for her." We had recently had pads put on at the MOG Toyota and the brakes were making noise when stopping so my wife and I were sure that the problem was minor and Mall of Georgia Toyota would take care of it. My wife waited nearly an hour for her keys and when she came home and I looked at the receipt, the 10% discount was not applied. I called Bill to ask him why the discount was not applied and his response, "Oh I'm sorry, I forgot!" ***I am NOT making this up!*** He said he would refund my card. The next day it just gets worst. My wife brings the car back, after about 6 hours of know word I call Bill to ask if my wife's car was ready and he said, "one of the rotors are bad." The price tag is about $150.00. Take the car home and it's making a very distinct humming noise. It's the holiday season and my wife and I are very busy so we did not have time to take the car back for about two weeks. Take the car back and they say it's the rear axle...price tag about $1800.00. I spoke with Timmy Acklin-Service manager and he was very rude and unprofessional! I admit I was very upset about how they were bleeding me with the repairs and he said, "I'm not gonna sit here and argue wit you!" I said that an argument takes at least two people and he should not say a word but listen...I am a dissatisfied customer and he should listen to my concerns instead of trying to talk over me. I spoke with his boss Dave fletcher and he was very professional and he did listen but said he could do the job for $1400.00, which is not a deal at all. My final thoughts...I am getting robbed! My car was not making the noise for over 100,000 miles, we drop it off and 6 hours later we hear a noise and they are taking no responsibility. I think that Mall of Georgia Toyota are dishonest people that are overcharging. I think that they fix the original problem and break something else so you'll bring your car back. This is what I think but how can I prove it! Do not go to this place for anything! More
I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership in November 2010. I test drove the vehicle around the block, but I should have driven it on the highway. After purchasing the vehicle, I did not drive i November 2010. I test drove the vehicle around the block, but I should have driven it on the highway. After purchasing the vehicle, I did not drive it for the first week because I had another vehicle to drive at the time. I started driving the vehicle the next week on the highway. The vehicle had extreme road noise and had a very very bumpy ride to it. I notified the sales rep and he told me to bring the vehicle back to the service dept. I brought the vehicle back to the service dept and they told me that they did not have time to look at the car because they were busy and I would have to make an appt. I explained to them that I had only had the car 14 days and the sales rep told me to bring the car back on that day. I also explained that I lived at least 35-40 miles away from the dealership and that I had specifically made a trip based on the sales rep's instructions. I went and told the sales rep and the sales manager had to step in before the service department would even look at the car. They did reluctantly and came back a short while later and said that the car was fine and the noise and roughness was due to the model of the car. They did not keep the car long enough to really check it out and give a accurate opinion.I beleive that they did a rush job just to get me out as quick as possible. I contacted the sales rep again to let him know that there still seemed to be a problem with the car, but he did not act as if it was a major concern to him. At this point, they had a signed contract,so they could care less. I was very upset about the car. The sales rep started laughing and told me that I should have purchased the other car that I test drove. I was so upset, I left the dealership almost in tears. I called the sales rep back and told him that I did not appreciate him laughing about the situation because I had signed a contract to pay for a car that was obviously defective. I thought his actions were very unprofessional. I took the car to another dealership the next day and traded it, for of course less than what I paid, so I had to absorb the negative equity and I had only had the car for almost 4 weeks. The new dealership was unhappy with the car after inspecting it. I will never purchase or refer anyone to the Mall of Georgia dealership ever. I have purchased several vehicles so far throughout my lifetime, and I have never seen such poor customer service and unprofessionalism. More
I purchased a Toyota Corolla new a few years back and I have needed parts and service since. The parts pricing is through the roof but the worst part is the rude and indifferent attitude of the staff. It have needed parts and service since. The parts pricing is through the roof but the worst part is the rude and indifferent attitude of the staff. It's almost comical how bad the service is. My brother and I always go with Toyota for personal and company vehicles but we will never purchase from this particular dealership again. Just the high number of complaints on a simple Yahoo search alone tells me to steer clear. More
Thought we had the whole car deal done over the phone. Had all the paperwork signed and faxed over. Drove four hours sat for three hours only to realize that they were not going to sell us the car for the Had all the paperwork signed and faxed over. Drove four hours sat for three hours only to realize that they were not going to sell us the car for the price that we all agreed on! The salesman hid from us once they handed us over to the finance department. Very unprofessional people! Between the drive to the dealership, the wait, three small children with bathroom stops we waisted about twelve hours of our time for nothing. They were trying the old bait and switch. You could not give me a car from them, I would refuse it! More
I have had continued problems with my RAV4's passenger window not working correctly. It is an intermittent problem. Took it 2 times to Toyota Mall of GA to get fixed. Spent hours there for them to tell window not working correctly. It is an intermittent problem. Took it 2 times to Toyota Mall of GA to get fixed. Spent hours there for them to tell me they wouldn't diagnose until I walked in and it wasn't working at that point. Stopped working again, took it to Marietta Toyota, which they did diagnose and said it was a bad motor. Now waiting for motor to come in to have fixed. So, 4 times to dealership, hours of lost work because Toyota Mall of GA wouldn't do their job. Dave Fletcher - Manager unprofessional. More
Very HIGH PRESSURE environment. Male salesmen especially seem to prey on females. My experience turned me off from Toyota MOG. I went in to trade my formerly new SUV that I bought from them 2 1/2 years ag seem to prey on females. My experience turned me off from Toyota MOG. I went in to trade my formerly new SUV that I bought from them 2 1/2 years ago for a brand new SUV. (My experience 2 years ago was horrible; thought I'd see if things would be different this time around.) They gave me an insulting trade-in offer for my vehicle - $7,000 below what I could have personally sold my vehicle for. When I told the sales guy what I knew my car was worth (excellent condition by the way, 1 owner, no accidents) he laughed and said, "You ain't gonna get that from no dealer!" Also, when he presented me information of what my new monthly payment would be, it was $150 MORE than what I was paying for the SUV I currently owned. He said to "keep an open mind"... that I should work with him and he'll get the monthly payment lowered. Why waste my time haggling?! If he knew it was already higher than my comfort level, why present it to me and tell me you can still get it lower? I headed over to Heyward Allen Toyota in Athens, GA (50 minutes from MOG). I told them how much I paid per month on my 4Runner, how much I knew it was worth, and how much I still owed on it. Right off the bat, Heyward's guys gave me an outstanding trade in offer on my vehicle. I knew I could get 20,500 personally from it, on a good day. They offered me 20,000 for it. They applied the trade off to a brand new 2010 4 Runner (with upgrades) and kept my monthly payments virtually the same. No haggling. Heyward Allen guys and managers were fast acting, upstanding, and personable. I felt no pressure from them, and they remained honest from the get go. Completely opposite experience from what you'll experience at MOG - where their sales guys aren't "allowed" to let you walk out until their managers (how ever many it takes) "talks to you". If you need a Toyota, please give Heyward Allen a try. They will respect you and your questions, desires, and concerns. More
I came here to buy a car after my car had reached the end of its life. After shopping at another dealership, I found myself fed up with the entire process and decided to give Toyota Mall of Georgia a shot. A of its life. After shopping at another dealership, I found myself fed up with the entire process and decided to give Toyota Mall of Georgia a shot. As soon as I got there, I was able to meet with the person I spoke to on the phone. He had already pulled the car that I was interested in looking in and immediately allowed me to take it on a test drive. After deciding that I wanted to get that car, we spent approximately an hour negotiating price. I then met with the finance specialist who managed to find monthly payments that met my needs. Over the course of a weekend, I was able to purchase a 2008 Toyota Prius to fit my needs at a relatively good price. I asked them to include floor mats and XM radio, to which they agreed. The parts department was closed over the weekend, so they are making sure that those items are mailed to me. Finally, after driving away, I found a crack in the windshield. Knowing that I had already signed the forms and basically had the car, problems and all, I wasn't expecting any sort of help from the dealership. However, after talking to the salesman who sold me the car, I was told that the windshield would be replaced for me, for free. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I will definately be back for the next time that I need to buy another car! More
