I purchased new Scion Xb in Dec. '11 and was very impressed with this dealership. I have always been suspicious of large car dealerships, but this one was a nice place to buy a car. The salesperson, Sheryl, was extremely helpful in geting me the car I wanted at a good price. The dealership's service department installed some accessories in a timely manner and I was given a loaner car for a few hours while this was being done. Everyone I encountered at the dealership was very friendly and helpful. My initial contact was via the internet, and all the details were done over the phone with Sheryl, as I already knew what car and accessories I wanted. More

This was the first time I have ever bought a new car (at first I was terrified of the process), and I was surprised with how easy and pleasant my experience was thanks to Toyota Mall of Georgia. From the v first I was terrified of the process), and I was surprised with how easy and pleasant my experience was thanks to Toyota Mall of Georgia. From the very beginning, Calan met with me and showed me all about the Prius, answering all of my questions and even staying past closing time to make sure that all of my questions and concerns were answered. He never pressured me to upgrade or to buy right away. I told him what I wanted and he delivered just that without any gimmicks or pressure. He also made sure that I got the best deal. When I found a dealer offering less for the same car, Calan made sure that he met that price and even better. They also gave me a more than fair price on my old trade in vehicle. In addition, with the Lifetime Warranty on the engine and transmission they offer at the Toyota Mall of Georgia, its hard to want to buy a car anywhere else. Overall, I felt that the staff genuinely cared about me and my needs. They made the extra effort to make the process of buying a new car less stressful. I would recommend this dealership and especially Calan to anyone who wants to buy a car! More
I recently purchased my third Toyota from this dealership since 2004. I only drive Toyota because of the resale value and the reliability. I drive a lot and have had six Toyotas since 1999. Like I said, I since 2004. I only drive Toyota because of the resale value and the reliability. I drive a lot and have had six Toyotas since 1999. Like I said, I drive a lot and I've never had any problems with any of my Toyotas. First of all, the dealership did not pay off my trade-in vehicle whithin ten days. In fact, it wasn't paid off until 21 days after I traded. Voice mail messages were left on the general mailbox at my office regarding non payment on my loan. That was kind of embarrassing and frustrating. I called and spoke to someone in the finance department at Mall of Georgia Toyota on October 21st and they told me the check was cut on the 19th of October. I traded on October 7th. I asked when it was mailed. She said it hadn't been mailed yet but would be mailed on the 24th. I thought that was ridiculous......especially when I can pay any bill on-line within a day or two. The bank sent me a notice and said I owed an additional $24 and change. I took it up to the dealership for them to pay. I waited for about 20 minutes while the only guy that could apparently help me was shooting the bull in his office with other employees......not customers. I decided my time was worth more than 25 bucks so I left and paid the late fee on line instantly when I got home. I had to wait on the vehicle I wanted for about a week to come in. That was no problem. The print out for the new vehicle that we negotiated the price on was a certain amount. It wasn't until after I purchased the vehicle that I later noticed the sticker that came on the vehicle showed $900 less. I never saw it when I came to pick it up because they were detailing it. I noticed when I was verifying the information on the new loan when my paperwork came from the bank. I got a mumbo jumbo reason for that when I asked. Lastly, when I sat down in the finance office to sign all of the paperwork there was one other sneaky tactic attempted. The vehicle I was trading in was a more expensive vehicle than the one I was purchasing when new. The price of the trade in was almost the same as the new vehicle I was purchasing. You only pay sales tax on the difference between the new vehicle and the trade in vehicle. I only had to pay a little over a hundred bucks in sales tax. However, the finance guy tried to sneak in approximately $1,800 in sales tax as the papers and signatures were flying across the desk. I caught it though. Of course, he apologized and blamed it on the "computer" but I don't really believe that. I let it go until the issues with the pay-off on my trade in, driving up there to get it straightened out on a Saturday afternoon, and having to sit there wasting time with no resolution. I will continue to drive Toyota vehicles but I'll never go to Toyota Mall of Georgia to purchase a new one. Ironically, we just test drove a Sienna mini van for my wife there before this all occurred. We'll get one somewhere else. More

It was not my intention to get a new vehicle nearly three weeks ago.... not at all. When I got a call from the sales department to explore my options and check out the value of my trade-in, my first thoughts weeks ago.... not at all. When I got a call from the sales department to explore my options and check out the value of my trade-in, my first thoughts were “Yea right, this is not going to happen.” I had looked at the vehicle I’d found most appealing six months ago, the Prius with its fuel economy was a perfect fit for my life style and fixed income. In fact after factoring in deferred maintenance, fuel economy, and optimal trade-in value, I’d actually calculated my monthly savings down to the decimal point, about making that switch. Hopefully anticipating the monthly savings I went elsewhere to look at the vehicle, only to discover that the high demand on hybrids during a gas price spike yields challenges and disappointments I hadn’t anticipated on. Despite low mileage, documented maintenance records, and the excellent condition of my vehicle, the quote on pricing and value of my trade-in fell way short of my expectations. As far as I was concerned the likelihood of me getting a little gold Prius were so unreasonable, they surpassed dream qualities and crossed over into a fantasy zone. Six months later, when I got a call from Ben Dale at the Mall of Georgia Toyota, my beliefs did not change. “This is not going to happen. I can’t afford it. They’re not going to give me anything on my trade-in. This is going to be a complete and total waste of my time.” Is what I was thinking when I agreed to check it out, without even knowing where they were located. Had I known, I probably wouldn’t have gone there. Good thing I wasn’t running things. As fate would have it, they only had one gold Prius on the lot. And considering it was also the most fully equipped, heavily optioned Prius on the lot, I was actually ready to turn around and walk out. Fantasy doesn’t quite describe it...thoughts of getting that vehicle were bordering on delusional. I didn’t go there to get a car, my expectations were to see where my trade-in value was, drool over what I wanted and walk away disappointed. That was the plan. The best part of which had to be the drooling part. Since I wasn’t prepared to make a purchase, the extensive research I’d done six months prior weren’t updated for this transaction. As it turns out, I didn’t have to. I called my insurance company, calculated the cost difference on what I could afford and gave them that amount. I didn’t try to low ball my quote, this was as much as I could afford uncomfortably and still be reasonable, and within the constraints of my budget. When all was said and done, they did exceed my limits by 46 cents, at which point I said, “Y’all trying to test my resolve up in here. Now I have to switch from liquid creamer to dry. Your only saving grace in this transaction is that I’ve cut down on my coffee consumption.” Which was true believe it or not. Fifty cents might have yielded new negotiations. I got the vehicle. Not only that, this vehicle by far exceeded my wants, needs and expectations at a price that I could afford, in the color combination I wanted. I’m still in shock. So much so, the transaction its self has overshadowed the new car. I’ve only been back to the dealership twice since the purchase, and on both occasions the service, and quality of work were exceptional, the issues, questions and concerns I had were addressed and answered. I went into this transaction telling my salesman ‘What God has for me, is just for me.” And the last thing said to him as I shook his hand before driving off the lot, after he thanked me was, “You can sell a car every day of your life, but its not every day that you get to be a facilitator of a blessing. So NO...thank you.” The people were much friendlier than I was believe me. And though I don’t know about the experience of others and what the future holds, this was by far one of the most rewarding purchases I’ve ever had the pleasure of being involved in. Not only do I hope they keep up the good work, I hope anyone reading this has an equally rewarding experience there. Sincerely, A. McCord Sgt. US Army Ret. More
