I took my car in on 2/4 because the check engine light had been on for a week. I had Auto Zone run a diagnostic test and no codes appeared. I was told it probably needed an oil change. When I got to AutoN had been on for a week. I had Auto Zone run a diagnostic test and no codes appeared. I was told it probably needed an oil change. When I got to AutoNation the light went off by itself. They didn’t even offer to check the oil because it had just been changed in mid November and I purchased it early December. On my way home the “change engine oil soon” light came on as well as the “check engine” light. That same day oil was leaking out onto my driveway. I took my car back the following Friday, 2/11, and insisted they do a thorough exam. Turns out there was a cracked gasket which caused the oil leak as well as all the dash alerts. If they hadn’t just dismissed me the first time they would have found the problem. My service associate was Alan Richter who was very polite. More
