HUGE SHOUT OUT to AUTO NATION – TOYOTA – MALL OF GA – especially Shannon. …as told by Edith Bunker, because I must start from the beginning. I have some stuff going on that in general that has me very emotional. I am an emotional person in general and don’t handle stress very well. I made it thru tax season in Public Accounting just barely, I think. 😊 Anyway, yesterday was a great day taking my two youngest grand babies for a bike ride. We arrived at the bike trail and I unloaded my bike and the five year old’s bike and was going to hook up the bike trailer when I found out the hatch on my Toyota Highlander wasn’t working. Because everything is electronic these days, I couldn’t open it manually either. Little things like that stress me. But I told myself no big deal, there is time to get this fixed before vacation…..there is no place I need to be….let little guy ride his bike for while we walk and then go to the playground. We had a super great day. Bikes, playground, lunch, ice cream, baking sweets, playing with chickens and dogs. This morning I spent three hours finalizing vacation plans which is a bit rough when ones kids are grown with their own spouses, careers and little ones, plus trying to plan around three or four families with various schedules. The three hours was wasted in the end….but nothing goes as planned, so I didn’t let it get to me. It will all work out. I took the Highlander to Toyota and thought I had approved the repair. I let them know my phone battery would be dead so they wouldn’t be able to reach me and I thought I made it clear to make the repair. Three and a half hours later, I returned to find out the repair had not been made because I had not signed off. (They had to order the part, so it probably wouldn’t have been completed today anyway.) Shannon, the service rep I have worked with for four years, asked me if I could bring it back Friday. Really, no big deal. But stupid tears started forming and I couldn’t contain them. I started apologizing….heck, I wasn’t upset with anyone….was just losing control of my emotions. Doesn’t help that so many babies and teachers were gunned down in an elementary school and I can’t get that out of my head either. So I start apologizing to Shannon and telling her it’s not her fault and that I am just having a bad day. With no hesitation, she asked if it would help if I left my car with her and drove a loaner vehicle home. I’m telling her nothing is her fault, but within 20 minutes it is all settled, I have signed off on the paperwork and have a loaner car that I simply bring back Friday when I pick up my car. This is the same Shannon that picked me up from the office three years ago when they didn’t have enough drivers to handle their shuttle service. I don’t know the lady who did the rental paperwork, but she was also tremendous. Charles, my shuttle driver for the last four years, is also AWESOME. Shannon very briefly told me about something in her life far worse than mine. She held it together and hugged me before I left. Next to Chic Fil Et, nothing beats Auto Nation- Toyota – Mall of GA. And Shannon particularly rocks. More
Had car serviced at 7am, was greeted right when I pulled into the garage. Ms. Soto checked me in, and had me out in good timing. I appreciated that she had a gentleman pull my car back into the garage once into the garage. Ms. Soto checked me in, and had me out in good timing. I appreciated that she had a gentleman pull my car back into the garage once everything was completed due to it raining very hard. Great gesture. More
