We were in the market for a new 4Runner, and had a very specific list of wants. Libertyville Toyota was able to acquire the specific vehicle we wanted, and make the necessary modifications to fit our needs. This is the 3rd new 4Runner we have purchased, but our first with Libertyville. We would definitely buy here again. As a matter of fact, I may be looking for a new Tundra, and would not hesitate to call them first. More
My first real business complaint that really forced me to take to the net, Egypt-style. My parents and I went through one of the worst experiences at the Libertyville Toyota. My mom and I started the ordeal take to the net, Egypt-style. My parents and I went through one of the worst experiences at the Libertyville Toyota. My mom and I started the ordeal at 6:00pm looking to purchase a new RAV4. At 7:30pm, my dad had come in to agree with what we got the price down to, and we finalized the deal. At 11:00pm my poor polite Korean parents are still waiting to get the car. I am utterly shocked at how long this takes, and I fully recommend that if you are ever in the market for a Toyota to never come to the Libertyville Toyota. Get your price quote and get it anywhere else. Update: This car dealership was also able to pull up my entire credit history including SSN with only my name and address. No consent necessary. More
DO NOT TRUST Libertyville Toyota. They are shysters! I found a 2008 Camry on the internet but did not want to drive 3 hours each way before a final price was worked out. I worked out an excellent price w found a 2008 Camry on the internet but did not want to drive 3 hours each way before a final price was worked out. I worked out an excellent price with Alan/used car manager and all details were put in an E-Mail from him. He was very nice and seemed to be very honest with alot of integrity. Salesperson Carolina confirmed that the car had heated leather seats. We arrived on Sat 1/15/11 AM after driving for 3 hours to find out the seats were not heated. That would be $500 for us to add that option. We wanted to write a check and drive home with the car. They would not honor their verbal committment and either put in the heated seats or take off $500. I even offered to share that price and they would only have to take off $200. They would not honor their internet verbal price and committment. Unfortunately Alan was not in yet that day and we were forced to work with a very unprofessional jerk (unduty used car manager). He was very arrogant and rude and said their word meant nothing until a signature was put on the paper. He kept pointing at a piece of paper and saying no ink signature. This dealership's word means nothing and they lie or do whatever it takes to get you there and then practice fraud to make a sale. Terrible experience!!! More
The Sale I live in Tennessee and bought a 2008 Toyota The Sale I live in Tennessee and bought a 2008 Toyota Highlander from them due to the difficulty of finding the exact car here in Tennessee. I called The Sale I live in Tennessee and bought a 2008 Toyota Highlander from them due to the difficulty of finding the exact car here in Tennessee. I called them and stiff armed a great deal as far as price. Although it took several days of negotiation on the phone. Matter of fact I was at the local dealer once I had the car and they said there is no way they could have sold that car to me at the price Libertyville was able to. Add-Ons Beware!!! Once we had a price worked out they tried to sell every service package known to man to me. I live out of state? Do you think they were going to have me to drive to Chicago from Tennessee for maintenance? Anyways I did not buy any of these packages. I also, pre-sell, read reviews stating this would happen. The "Bad" Experience So the deal was worked and it was time to go pick it up. Turns out I had something very important to do the day we were scheduled to pick the car up. Thus, I ended up sending my wife to get the car. I sent her with a partial check, loan check from our bank, and a personal check for the remaining portion. I gave her strict instructions to pay only the price negotiated and if anything happened to either call me or leave and fly back home. Well as you guessed I get a call from her and she says the dealership claims they will not accept the payment from the bank. It was supposedly an insufficent form of payment. Nonetheless I get the sales guy and finance guy on the phone and we had a VERY heated argument. It came down to me telling him that I didn't want his piece of s$#@ and also told him to explain to my wife the reason you made her cry. He ended up with a "come back" that was something like this, " Although we can't accept your banks payment we are prepared to offer you the same financing through our dealership." Enough said. At this point I realized what was going on. I told him, " You have two choices send her home in the car or take her to the airport, either way I am not accepting your financing." I went on to tell him that he basically tried to pull a low stunt. The Ending The ended up selling us the car after I wrote them a personal check for the full amount. We did work out a delayed payment form that said they would not cash the check for two weeks. This gave us time to get them a new loan check. However, I didn't accept their financing. We had to get the bank to send them a new check. The bank told us in their entire history no dealership has ever denied a check like that. They said they were full of it. Nonetheless we sent the check etc. and finalized the deal. It took three weeks or so but partially due to other reasons uncontrollable to the dealership. In case you are wandering they did not cash our check after the two weeks since I called them to extend the delayed payment one more week. They called the next day and said they received the payment and would overnight the title. As with everything else I did not receive the title the next day. I did however get it with in a few days though. Something I had come to expect from them. Moral I got a great deal from them. The car is exactly what my wife wanted. Happy wife + good price = happy marriage. Unfortunately I felt like I was constantly have to fight them in every aspect. Thus, If you want a great deal with ALOT of headaches, then by all means negotiate hard. If you want a great "family experience" steer clear. I would go back if I found the car I wanted because I am a price driven shopper. However this time I would make sure that I was the one going to the dealership to pick the car up. More
Greetings - Let's begin first of who I am. I *was* a Greetings - Let's begin first of who I am. I *was* a loyal customer of Libertyville Toyota for many years. Over those years I have purchased 4 veh Greetings - Let's begin first of who I am. I *was* a loyal customer of Libertyville Toyota for many years. Over those years I have purchased 4 vehicles myself, my parents purchased 3, my sister purchased 1 (maybe 2)and with friends I'd say we are looking at almost a dozen or so vehicles strictly due to word of mouth and experience. However. Recently, this past November, as the loyal customer I am, I went to Libertyville Toyota to look into getting out of my 2005 Highlander and into a Rav 4. After what felt like a lukewarm vibe from Russ I was shocked to find myself leaving the dealership without any discussion about finances or what deal (if any) we are looking at. Instead, it was a 'we have to call Toyota, we'll call you Monday' (this was on a Saturday, early November). Monday comes and goes... Tues, I call, leave a voicemail with Russ and receive a callback from a person called Dustin. He takes more info, says he'll call back. At this time, being the customer, I am NOT going hunt them down...they are in the business to make a sale. I can go elsewhere. Literally, weeks go by and no call back. I call back, leave a rather not so friendly message stating 'thanks for the lack of call back' and that I was going to entertain a different dealership. Again, this voicemail is left for Russ and he obviously told someone about it as I got a call back from Joe N. within minutes. He did his best to calm me down...says he'll call back in 1-2hrs. That was on a Friday afternoon. Did he call you? He never called me. In fact I got no calls from anyone after that day. A loyal customer such as myself, helping to drive business to them and with a track record of MANY purchases and this is how they treat me? Can you even imagine what a new customer must experience? Instead, weeks later, I receive rejection letters from various financial institutions. This is interesting considering I have no idea what Libertyville Toyota was submitting since NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK. Disgusted so much by their lack of customer service I started to even look away from the Toyota brand altogether. Luckily for Toyota, my wife found Fox Lake Toyota. A world of difference over there. THEY (FOX LAKE TOYOTA) treat people with respect. THEY (FOX LAKE TOYOTA) will actually make you feel like they care about you. Go to Fox Lake Toyota. See Bob Vrakas. Email him: bobv@foxlaketoyota.com HE will take care of you. HE will call you back or email you as he says he will. Fox Lake Toyota will provide the customer service experience you deserve and expect when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. Libertyville Toyota no longer cares about customer service (obviously) and has spit in the face of customer loyalty. I strongly urge you to goto Fox Lake Toyota, it'll be well worth your time/money. Tell Bob I sent ya. Marshal More
Bought a used 2005 Camry from them. They promised to change the tires but did not do it. They made me wait for 2 weeks to deliver my car and so I got locked in with my money and had to take it without n change the tires but did not do it. They made me wait for 2 weeks to deliver my car and so I got locked in with my money and had to take it without new tires. I dont know how the dealership is still open. It should have been closed long time back. May be they are still running the show with some cheap parts and doing oil change. Mike was too pushy in selling the extended warranty which I had to fight for few days and reject. I would buy a BMW or VW which gives free maintenance and warranty. Would never go back to them again not even for an oil change. More
Best service - best price - best value. Adrian found me the car that I wanted - helped me terminate the lease on my previous vehicle, and sold the car to me at the price that I wanted. I bought a 2003 TOYOTA AVALON XLS with 67,083 miles on it last week. The buying process including the test drive went smooth and they (Tom and Jeff-Business Manager) were polite and courteous. However, upon last week. The buying process including the test drive went smooth and they (Tom and Jeff-Business Manager) were polite and courteous. However, upon leaving the dealership, i found out that the owners car manual was missing and the car produces a squeaky noise (at the steering wheel) while turning. Repeated emails have gone unanswered, but they used to answer my emails promptly before i bought the car from them. They have not earned their trust and i will recommend against using them till i find them forthcoming about fixing what is seemingly minor issues. More
I saw the vehicle on the cars.com and checked it out on their website. The car listed on their website was an even more upscale version then the one on cars.com. When I asked the salesman, he stated they their website. The car listed on their website was an even more upscale version then the one on cars.com. When I asked the salesman, he stated they couldn't correct their own website. When discussing the purchase, they made us fill out a credit application. We already had financing so I questioned it. They said it was required 1) in case our financing fell through 2) something regarding the Patriot Act so everyone has to fill it out now. After waiting along period of time, the finance person came out to meet us. I asked if we could be done in 15 min and he said it would take at least 45 min. After checking out scams.com I found out they have us fill out an application so they can run our credit to offer us "better" financing. However, the terms were 5 years vs 3, which in the end would cost us more. The salesman also "forgot" to mention that they had Theft Protection etching on all their vehicles and this would be another $199 dollars. Also on scams.com, this isn't true. After an hour with the finance person who didn't seem to know what he was doing, we left, but even before we were out the door, he came with more papers to sign. When arriving home, we didn't have a title or registration. They called us stating the car we traded in still showed the lien holder and we'd have to have that cleared before they could issue a title. (the title is clear and Carmax was able to determing that when I visted them) After a few phone calls back and forth, they said they'd work around it-remove the Theft Protection charge, but I'd still have to wait 10 days to receive my title while my check cleared. The finance person also faxed me a copy of the purchase agreement and registration-which had incorrect amounts on them and they didn't match. Another day of phone calls now with the finance Mangager and they state they "took care of it" and would send me the paperwork. I have no trust in this dealership. June 2008 More

Our salesperson, Rick Miller (12 yrs experience at this dealership) was pleasant, pr Janesville, WI... Libertyville Toyota was a breath of fresh air. Our salesperson, Rick Miller (12 yrs experience at this dealership) was pleasant, professional, and very efficient. He gave me exactly the trade-in prce I had expected and a very good price on an already great priced vehicle. Finance manager Mike did not try to force extended warranties or undercoating/fabric protection down my throat... a VERY good car-buying experience. Highly recommend.... would definatley buy from again! More
