I h fast and simple. I knew what car I wanted and knew the price and had a wonderfull experience. I would recomend this dealership to anyone I know. I have read the other comments posted and I have to say that its not the dealership that has a bad name but the people you deal with. More
I called Power Toyota Irvine and spoke to internet salesman David Reed to ask for an emailed quote with price breakdown and out the door price, but he didn’t return my call until 4 days later (in whic salesman David Reed to ask for an emailed quote with price breakdown and out the door price, but he didn’t return my call until 4 days later (in which time I had already purchased my Toyota Yaris elsewhere,) nor did he ever send me an email quote. He did not seem interested in dealing with me at all; apparently it seemed as if he did not really want to invest any time dealing with a knowledgeable car buyer. I was not surprised that he never emailed me a quote or even sent me a thank you response. Bad shopping experience and poor customer service. If asked, I will steer people away from Power Toyota Irvine. More
Avoid this dealership like the plague. They are liars, rotten, scheming, conniving, and just plain crooked. You will be shown around the lot, quoted a desirable price, ushered into the sales office and p rotten, scheming, conniving, and just plain crooked. You will be shown around the lot, quoted a desirable price, ushered into the sales office and pressured into a deal... AFTER the numbers have all changed. Higher price for the used vehicle overall (Chris Rojas claimed that he was misinformed. Liar! I am computer science major and I know how easily numbers can be manipulated) and a horrible interest rate. But that's not the worst of it. The buyer, my mother (also elderly, and of a minority race), was harrassed for weeks, threated by Chris Rojas that he would "ruin her credit" if she didn't call him right back. Well, we what we did was return the vehicle and give the shrimpy little Chris Rojas some heat and pressure that He couldn't handle. I was angry, pissed, and ready to piss down his throat and I let him know that. The poor little feller hid for hours while we waited to visit with a manager, whom everybody claimed was "not in today." As well, Chris Rojas and his other crooked salesfolk knew I wasn't leaving and brought out some apparently big guys for security - they kept watching me threateningly. I yawned at them and gave them the bird. Anyway, Steve Kang dealt with us and was willing to return the down payment after some further strong-arming and a very serious threat to sue and bring in the DMV. If you want to buy from Power Toyota Irvine, come ready to fight; because if you're spineless these scheisters will walk all over you. More
Posted: 2/15/06 12:08AM Post subject: Power Toyota of Irvine -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I recently just purchased my tC last week at Po Irvine -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I recently just purchased my tC last week at Power Toyota of Irvine. I have got to say that is the WORST dealership that I have EVER done business with. The night I went to purchase my tC there were two dents on the driver side door, right on the contour line (which are impossible to get out without a body shop). I pointed this out to them and told them I wasn't taking the vehicle like that. In short I had to argue with the managers the following day. They kept insisting that I took delivery of the vehicle (I never drove off the lot) so therefore they couldn't help me. So finally they agreed with me that it should get fixed. Well I stop by later the following night to see a half a$$ attempt at the dent repair, everybody was pointing it out. I then told them that I wanted the Flint Mica tC on the showroom floor which was going for $20,387 (everything standard on it, plus 17" chrome wheels, TRD exhaust, lip spoiler, tC door sills, and fog lights). I paid the difference of $500 for four great items, as long as they removed those ugly chrome wheels which were going for just under $2300. Upon delivery of that vehicle I found no dents at all whatsoever, but a different surprise, one of the wheels was damaged. It looked like someone had ran it into a curb. Fortunately enough the managers did not argue with me this time as they saw I paid cash for my new vehicle and told me to come in on Tuesday to get my wheel replaced, ok cool. Over the past weekend I notice that my valet key and my other remote key do not work at all. It turns out they belonged to the other Flint Mica tC that was dented and now bought. So I go in tonight to swap the keys with the other owner to find out that he left them at home. He has a full set of keys now, while I am stuck with only one key. His salesman recommended that I drive to his house in Fountain Valley to get my keys (if they are mine that is). While I am walking out of the dealership I am told that I will be getting a phone call from two Toyota reps. One call is for my wheel that is on order (replacemnt wheel is scratched as well), and the other call is from Toyota CSI survey asking me questions about my recent purchase. The dealership told me to give them all fives....Yeah right!!! Would I recommend this dealer? HELL NO!!! More
My Wife and were serious about buying a Scion xB. Everything was fine untill we got to the Finance Manager, the Salesman was friendly enough, very knowledgeable, no complaints there. We decided on t Everything was fine untill we got to the Finance Manager, the Salesman was friendly enough, very knowledgeable, no complaints there. We decided on the Color of our xB, waited almost 2 hours for the Finance Dept to fit us in, did all the paperwork then....nothing. The Finance Manager complained that he was "Over worked" and did not have time to return Phone Calls (he was true to his word)....I called him at least 4 times, because guess what, I have a JOB and other things to do. Finally, I called Family Toyota in San Juan Capistrano, they were fantasic, first of all, nothing was too much trouble, test drive? No problem, I told them as I arrived that I HAD to be outta there by 4pm because I had a Drs appointment, the finance dept was still working on the deal, so they let me drive the xB to my appointment...so afterwards, I drove back there, did the deal in half an hour, and by the way, the Leather interior option is $1000 less than Power, Family offer FREE Oil changes for the life of the Car...so I'm actually glad that Power messed me around so much. Thank you Power, you unwittingly did me a favor. I've been delighted with Family Toyota's service in every respect. OH, they even gave me $1500 MORE for my trade!! Bottom line, if you're in Southern California, drive stright past Power in Irvine and down to Family Toyota in San Juan Capistrano. More
Watch the service writers! They will sell you services you don't need and then when you come looking for an explanation.... they vanish! Customer Care is no better, only wanting to hear the good stories; you don't need and then when you come looking for an explanation.... they vanish! Customer Care is no better, only wanting to hear the good stories; they don't have time to listen to valid complaints. This is the most convenient dealership to me, but they won't be seeing any more of my money! Don't be fooled by their slick attitude, if they can get away with it, they'll take your money and do the bare minimum for it. More
My little sister took in her Brand new Scion Xa with less than 3000 miles for the first oil change, which was supposedly free of charge for the first 2 or 3 oil changes. Dealer ended up telling her that her than 3000 miles for the first oil change, which was supposedly free of charge for the first 2 or 3 oil changes. Dealer ended up telling her that her car needs a service and rotate the tires (tires were like brand new, she barely drove the car), gave her the discount for the free oil change and still charged her over $24 for just rotating tires? Are they ripping my sister off because she is a young adult right out of high school? Plus, instead of correcting the steering wheel not being straight while the car drives straight when it's brand new, now the steering wheel and alignment are both worse than before after they touched it. Charged $24 for tire rotation and with no car wash? All other dealers near by gave oil change without discount at $24.95 (V6) and gave a car wash. What's going on??? More
High pressure is not enough to describe it. They switch and bait, they give you the run-around, all the tricks of the trade just to get you to sign the paper. The sales person(s) I dealt with knew less abo and bait, they give you the run-around, all the tricks of the trade just to get you to sign the paper. The sales person(s) I dealt with knew less about the vehicle I was interested in than I did, and anytime someone is selling you a product and they don't know anything about it - well that's just bad business and doesn't inspire much confidence, now does it?
The Solara I was interested in wouldn't start without a jump. Then, when the sales person drove it out of the lot he managed to nick the rear on a curb. While test driving the vehicle kept stalling (due to the 'dead' battery) yet the sales person tried to pan it off as 'normal for this vehicle - it will not do that later' (I guess once I had signed the paper?).
Anyway, once I was done with the test drive, respectfully declined the offer to look at possible financing (I had made up my mind not to buy here) the manager of course had to try and reel me in, please fill out survery papers, 'today I can let you have that car for a bargain' etc.
I went and bought a MB C230 instead. Very happy with that decision.
By the way, why do sales people always try to run your credit even if you tell them you're paying cash and don't want them to run the credit? It affects your credit score you know.

P.S. Been to two other Toyota dealers - they also use the same tactics to try and get you to commit. Is there an in-house Toyota sales school or something? More
I cannot describe how horrible this dealership was. We bought the right car but I can say without hesitation that we made a HUGE mistake in allowing Power Toyota to sell this vehicle. They can't seem to g bought the right car but I can say without hesitation that we made a HUGE mistake in allowing Power Toyota to sell this vehicle. They can't seem to get anything right and go out of their way to screw things up. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. They are not honest and use high pressure tactics to get you to buy at a higher rate than necessary. More
Our experience with this dealership has been nightmarish, to say the least... and it's not over! We bought a brand-new vehicle 3 weeks ago. First night, the battery was dead, and they said they were sendin to say the least... and it's not over! We bought a brand-new vehicle 3 weeks ago. First night, the battery was dead, and they said they were sending someone to help. That someone decided (after stringing us along repeatedly) that it was too much hassle to actually come, so they left me (8 mo. pregnant) and my family stranded for 3 hours, before I finally got someone to use THEIR AAA service to get us a jump (and we were only about 10-15 miles from the dealership!) The sales experience was awful, and filled with bait & switch tactics. We agreed on a set price and payment on Saturday night, and Sunday morning, they were claiming that we were only going to get a lease. $28,000 for a LEASE??? I don't think so. THEN, they didn't even call to get a payoff amount for our trade-in for well over 2 weeks so my old bank almost auto-withdrew a payment for a car I didn't have. NOW, we get a call saying that we need to bring our first payment in and pay it directly to them, AND we need to do it TODAY! (all information previously stated, including our paperwork shows our first payment due next month). To top it off, we STILL have not received a single piece of paperwork about our warrantee, roadside assistance, etc. etc. More
