My work was completed satisfactorily and the service advisor who I worked with, Nick, was very polite and knowledgeable. My only complaint was the long wait for the work to be completed. This may be confusing since I had the car in for a recall. Your dealership sold me this car. I have always been a Toyota person over the years and have owned several. Sorry to say, but my Venza has turned me sour because of an irritating "clicking" noise coming from the steering wheel or column going over every little ripple in the road. I asked Mario what it might be and he said it could be anything in the steering column and it would have to be scheduled to analyze the situation. I mentioned that I had heard it could cost over $3000,00 to fix. He confirmed and said there would be a service charge probably over $100.00 to check it out. I went to the parts dept. and checked on the steering shaft and column & learned the parts alone are over $2000.00 if they are available. This is a common problem and I am amazed that Toyota hasn't had a recall on this. I guarantee that when people ask how I like my Venza, they don't get a very favorable response. I never thought l would bad mouth a Toyota - I have a 1987 4Runner yet and certainly have had to replace parts and I expect that, but not something like this. I am retired, a single wage earner, and live on a pension, soc. security and savings. I just feel "bamboozled', ripped off, and cheated by a company that is supposed to be #1. It won't be for long, treating customers like idiots. I talked to one guy the other day who said he priced 4 Venzas that just came into the used car lot for over $43000.00. He went to the new car dealer and they had one for $38,000- similar milage. Word gets out. I doubt that this note will go much past your dealership, but it should go to corporate. I don't mind fixing tires, brakes, starters, etc. but sweeping an inherent problem under the rug won't help. Unfortunately, I can't remember if the "clicking" noise was in the car (milage now 69,000) when I bought it a year ago, but what really bothers me is that what I am reading on the internet it has been a common problem since 2005. Shame on Toyota. Guess I have to learn the hard way. I doubt it, but if there is any kind of help from Toyota, let me know. More
