I came to this dealership after my partner had many wonderful experiences here. Overall, it was positive and much better than my experiences at Firestone and similar shops. I love the open line of text wonderful experiences here. Overall, it was positive and much better than my experiences at Firestone and similar shops. I love the open line of text communication while your car is there as well as a complimentary ride to home or work. It also put me at ease to see so many women employees because I have always felt a little out of my element in a male-dominated car world. My only major complaints are these: When I first talked to the tech about necessary work, there were some items that didn't *need* to be done for another 3,000 miles. I said that I didn't mind doing them as long as no other repairs came up or were necessary. Unfortunately, later when I was called and told that there was in fact a repair needed to the AC system and a few other small things, I was told that the unnecessary work was already started so it was too late not to do it. It all worked out this time and my car is drivable and I love rocking with the windows down until I can budget for the AC, but it put me in a seriously stressful financial situation as I juggled a now $1200 bill. In the future I guess I just won't agree to repairs of any kind until the whole car has been inspected and I know exactly what to expect. And unfortunately when I did finally drive off the lot, my hood was not fully closed. This was quite an immediate surprise since the dealership is right next to the highway. Thankfully I was able to pull over and secure it before there was any damage, but it was a bit startling and rattled my confidence a bit. Overall, it was a positive but rocky experience and I would love to give the dealership another chance for an even better experience next time. More
One fully expects to pay for items when the warranty expires, so it was a pleasant surprise when Cole recognized an expensive component of my 2018 Outback that was going bad and took care of the situati expires, so it was a pleasant surprise when Cole recognized an expensive component of my 2018 Outback that was going bad and took care of the situation in a way that increased my satisfaction with this dealership in a way that was unexpected and positive. AVOID AUTONATION SUBARU WEST AT ALL COSTS! These guys are totally untrustworthy, especially the General Manager Brian Murphy. Let me explain… We have been loyal AutoNation customers for many These guys are totally untrustworthy, especially the General Manager Brian Murphy. Let me explain… We have been loyal AutoNation customers for many years, buying multiple new vehicles from them over the years, as well as taking our cars to their Service Dept for all Maintenance and repairs. Recently, they performed a “Condenser Unit Replacement” recall on our Forester, and the AutoNation Subaru West mechanic then FORGOT TO RE-CONNECT the two engine cooling fans after the repair. This caused our engine to overheat, and the head-gasket blew out. This mistake caused over $5,000 in engine damage, and AutoNation Subaru West REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ERROR! They did not even offer to pay for a PORTION of the repair bill! Can you believe that? When the Subaru mechanic took a look at the blown engine, he immediately said “well, both of your cooling fans are unplugged, so of course your engine was going to overheat and blow a head gasket.” So now we will be forced to spend ADDITIONAL money to hire a lawyer to take them to court to get them to pay for the damage they caused. So clearly their “12 month/12,000 mile guarantee” is a lie, and they are now trying to cheat us out of $5,000 by forcing us to pay for their error. This is typical behavior of con-men and thieves, in my opinion, and should not be tolerated by a company like Subaru, who prides themselves on being a positive member of the community. Please do not do business with AutoNation Subaru West in Golden, CO. They are a horrible business with dishonest leadership and an incompetent Service Dept. More
