Should not have scheduled so many folks or asked us to reschedule. Thanks. More

I was not satisfied with my experience here, for the 60,000 maintenance stop on my Honda Pilot. I was pressured into replacing the water pump, an expensive event. I said no, I don't want to do that at t 60,000 maintenance stop on my Honda Pilot. I was pressured into replacing the water pump, an expensive event. I said no, I don't want to do that at this time. The service rep wouldn't give up and kept urging me to do it, claiming Honda recommends such replacement every 60K miles, and you don't want to ruin your engine if it fails. Eventually, I gave in and said OK, and later regretted my agreement. In fact, the industry recommendation is to replace the water pump between 60K and 100K miles. This from an auto repair site: "The water pump is one of the vehicle components that may never require replacement if your vehicle is well-taken care of. You can own a car for over 15 years and never have to replace the water pump...Typically, the recommended interval for replacing the water pump is every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on various factors, such as the car model, road and weather conditions, and driving behavior." We never had a problem with our previous Honda Pilot water pump - over 12 years and 200K miles. I am not happy that I was pressured into replacing the pump at this time. I suggest better education for the service reps to understand the recommendations and why. More
