Usually have an excellent experience all around getting my Accord serviced here at Autonation. Unfortunately, this time was not okay. Within 80 miles driven after the oil change and tire rotation, 3 of my my Accord serviced here at Autonation. Unfortunately, this time was not okay. Within 80 miles driven after the oil change and tire rotation, 3 of my 5 lug nuts on my front passenger wheel were completely gone. The one remaining lug nut was hand tight, and my wheel lock was barely hanging on. The car is garage kept and is driven by my wife when she is running errands with our kids. I had noticed after leaving the dealership that I heard an audible click when slowing down or accelerating for traffic lights. I didn’t think to bring it to the service reps attention because I had no way of knowing what it was. After about a week of my wife driving the car with our kids, she told me that that audible clicking became more frequent and that I should check the car, as I went out to raise the car up, I suspected that maybe it would be something simple like a suspension link, or the plastic water guard under the car catching on something…. What did I find? 3 completely missing lug nuts, my wheel lock barely hanging on, and the final lug nut less than hand tight. I immediately lost my cool and was absolutely pissed off. I knew at that moment what the clicking sound was when I drove out of the service center at Autonation. I felt crushed knowing that there could’ve been a major accident involving my wife and kids, and that it would be my fault for not immediately calling or returning to Honda to figure out what was wrong. I spent about a week debating on calling or writing a review because I wasn’t sure how I’d be able to talk about it without losing it. The rest of the wheels were fine and tight, but that single noise coming from the car was from the front drivers side wheel not being properly tightened or even torqued by the technician at Autonation. Did that technician possibly get distracted or assume he had tightened them down? I’m not sure, I just know that it could’ve been catastrophic and life changing, and that the guilt would’ve been carried by me because I heard the noise first. More
