They wore me down and got me to agree to a deal, then after several hours of hunger and exhaustion, I signed. As they rang up more and more hidden charges I watched as my decent deal became a tragic loss. When I protested some of the charges, they went out and took off the mudflaps and removed the floor mats and trunk liner. Not having learned my lesson and 3 years later, I gave them a chance to beat another dealers best offer on a purchase. They beat the offer slightly and I was happy that the deal included a pay-off of the civic so that I wouldn't have to pay extra mileage fees on it. That was the original deal that, once met by autonation, convinced me to buy my SUV from them. Satisfaction just wasn't meant to be. A snake is a snake and it bites. Three months later I received a bill from Honda for just under $400 for the mileage overage that Autonation had assured me they would take care of. They denied any knowledge of the deal and told me that they had "lost so much money" on the original deal that they needed to "make up" the costs somewhere. More

The truly above and beyond service came when our salesman helped load tires into my dads truck at his house while getting my car to trade in. Not expected at all-and he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. It was thoughtful and very much appreciated! We came to look at a used vehicle and I left with a brand new car! More

Returned vehicle to dealer for expected service, resulting in no service since I had already had to have multiple items repaired. After sales emails from the salesman and GM, I let them know about the various issues, no response...bet they would have responded if I wanted to purchase the 2nd car they were trying to sell me. Horrible disregard for the customer and their experience! They do NOT value their customers!!! More

Our salesperson, Caleb Englert worked diligently with us under very difficult circumstances to provide a price that was more than fare. He was completely up front with us about everything. The pricing and trade in valuation was excellent. He gave us plenty of time to consider options and never exerted any pressure during the process. In brief, my daughter, who worked in Spokane until yesterday, March 30, 2016 was notified just a day or so earlier of a recall defect that is potentially fatal (the Takeda Airbag recall). Parts for repair would not be available until the Summer of 2016. Our daughter was also notified that her job required her to move to a Midwestern state and she need to report for work there no later than April 5th. She had to be on the road by March 30th. I live in Chicago. There was no way my wife and I were going to allow our daughter to drive cross country (or anywhere really) knowing about this defect. She is too young to rent, and Honda America is so overwhelmed with this issue that we could not get a satisfactory response as to how they wanted to handle her transportation, etc. in time for her departure. We felt our only reasonable option was to trade the defective car in to a Honda dealer. I selected AutoNation Spokane Valley as we have an AutoNation dealer here near Chicago that we have purchased all of our cars from and find this company to be highly reliable. Mr. Englert was both very understanding of our predicament and did not take advantage of our difficult situation. More than that, he and his manager agreed to adjust the trade-in value and price significantly in order to make the entire process more palatable. Additionally, Mr. Englert eased many potential delays and difficulties (our title to the trade-in was here in Illinois, we are insured in Illinois and our daughter is a resident of Illinois) making the entire process smooth and understandable. At a time when we were all quote agitated and concerned, Mr. Englert conducted himself in such a truly professional manner that the entire situation was greatly eased. Our daughter is now on her way in a safe car that she is happy with and we have paid a price we consider to be VERY fair. There is no way that I would ever go to any other Honda dealer in Spokane, and I would urge anyone thinking about buying a Honda to go to AutoNation and ask for Caleb Englert. He is your man (his manager in this, Rich Costa, also provided help and consent to all arrangements and we thank him here as well). More
How many times do you want to go back? Second time there. First time just for an oil change, and they pushed and said I needed my transmission fluid changed... Kept pushing until I told the Second time there. First time just for an oil change, and they pushed and said I needed my transmission fluid changed... Kept pushing until I told them it was changed 6 months ago. "Oh, my tech must of not got it right?" Really? Pushing any service for more money? This time I knew I had to replace the back battery on my hybrid for a cost of often quoted $2500, but they hiked it up to near $3000 so they could claim to give me a 10% discount. Had them fix my door latch and put air in the tires for $100,..got out the driveway and the wheel skirt fell off, and had to go back. Then on the way home I noticed that the charge assist light, which was working before was not working at all now and it was going straight downhill. I would never make it home now? They disconnected something so I would have to come back. Grrr More

The transaction went smoothly, albeit, they need more closers on staff to provide a less than 4 hour total purchasing experience with 2 toddlers and 3 other kids under 8. The issue that I am having is that I repeatedly have called to have a part installed that was promised to be installed at closing, and they NEVER call back, except when I made a phone call to the general manager; I get a call back, and they order the WRONG PART, even though I specify in photos and emails the correct part to order. we are going on OVER 10 WEEKS since we closed the deal, and Autonation Honda has not made good on installing the part. Also, I have called to request information on where the windshield was replaced so that I can have warranty work performed on the seal that has separated from the top of the windshield, and THEY NEVER CALL BACK! Am I sensing a common theme here? Autonation markets itself on customer service and loyalty. This is my second Autonation purchase, and I want the general manager to make it right, not another ten weeks from now, but a phone call in the next week, is that too much to ask? You can find me by the vehicle type and year and sale date at the top! Just give me a call! More

Our daughter went in for 3 recall notices and left paying $170 for a new gas cap and windshield wipers. She told them she smelled gas and the "check engine" light was on. The gas cap itself says that if is cracked it can cause that light to illuminate. It was, in fact, cracked, but instead of checking that first they ran an expensive diagnostics program on it, then told her she needed a new cap. She is 21 years old and that was her first experience in handling a car issue on her own. They completely took advantage of her, and when we found out we called them immediately. Their response was nothing short of slimy. A lot of fast talking and no effort to have a reasonable conversation. We will NEVER do business with AutoNation Honda again. It is discouraging to encounter a business like this one. More
6 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASED NEEDED NEW TRANSMISSION CONVERSATIONS AND DETAILED EVENTS RE: AUTONATION HONDA, SPOKANE VALLEY, WA MAY 9, 2014: I bought a car at Auto Nation Honda in Spokane Valley on M CONVERSATIONS AND DETAILED EVENTS RE: AUTONATION HONDA, SPOKANE VALLEY, WA MAY 9, 2014: I bought a car at Auto Nation Honda in Spokane Valley on May 9th with an extended 3 month warranty. When I purchased the warranty, I was told it covered my transmission if anything should go wrong within 3 months. (mileage: 88249) MAY 19, 2014: One week later, my check engine light comes on. Diagnostic reads it’s the transmission. They flush the transmission and put in new fluid. (mileage: 88423) JUNE 23, 2014: My battery dies so I ask if my extended warranty covers that. Mark Murphy said, “No, the warranty covers things like your transmission.”(mileage: 89,000) JULY 15, 2014: Check engine light comes on. Diagnostic reads it's the transmission. I am told by Mark Murphy, "This isn't good. I have to talk with the manager and see if they want to pay for the repairs (between $2000-$3000) or put you in a different car." Several hours go by and I don't hear from them so I drive to the dealership to talk to the manager Mark Mitchell. He acts like he doesn't even know I was there earlier in the day. I remind him of why I am there. Mark Mitchell states, “What are we suppose to do about this? You have had the car for six weeks. That's how it goes when you buy a $4000 car.” (Paid $4877.22 with all fees and taxes). He offers to put me in a PT Cruiser with 150,000 miles for the same price I purchased my car. Then he changes his mind and states the other car is going to be $2000 more than what I paid for my car. I told him I don't have $2000 for another car. I was just laid off 2 days ago and I have $300 to my name. He leaves and another manger comes over and pretty much says there is nothing they can do for me. I give him my extended warranty and he says, “This is good, we can fix your car with this.” He continues, “This is the best $310.00 you have ever spent.” He tells me to talk to the Service Manager Jeannie Spink. Without her even knowing what Mark Murphy said is wrong with the car or what needs to be repaired, she automatically states this warranty doesn't cover the repairs. I told her, “Call Mark Murphy because you don’t even know what needs to be repaired to know what the warranty does and does not cover. I told her Mark Murphy said the warranty covers the transmission and you (Auto Nation Honda) were deciding if the dealership if fixing the car or providing me with a different car.” She calls Mark Murphy and he tells her to call the Mark Mitchell. He again tells me there is nothing he can do about it and if I want to call the District Attorney's office they will tell me the same thing. He asks me, "Didn't you read your warranty, I read everything I sign." I told him to stop being condescending. I informed him I was told at the time of the sale by Meg that the warranty covers the transmission. That is why I purchased the extended warranty. Mark Mitchell asks to drive my car and when he comes back he says the transmission is wanky. He then leaves and comes back and tells me he can put in a 100,000 mile transmission that was from a car that has been in a wreck. But I would have to pay $300 to get it installed. I just told the guy I was laid off and I have $300 to my name. So, he wants to put a used 100,000 mile transmission in my car to replace the 88,000 mile transmission. Oh yes, and charge me the last $300.00 to my name that I just informed him about. Initially, AutoNation offered a straight off trade, then a trade but you have to pay $2000 and the final result is an old transmission in for $300. Mark Mitchell told me, they thought there wasn’t a problem with the transmission when the sold it to me. I told him, “Apparently you thought wrong.” He said if they knew there was a transmission problem, they would have auctioned off the car and not sold it. I told him “If I knew the car had a transmission problem, I wouldn’t have bought it. I didn’t expect to pay $5000 to have a transmission issue one week later, or 6 weeks later.” He said they fixed the problem 6 weeks earlier. I said, “Apparently, you have not, because if you did, I wouldn’t be sitting here right now.” I informed him that Mark Murphy, Service Department said, “We may have ruined the transmission when we flushed the transmission fluid. Sometimes a transmission won’t work after you remove the old oil and replace it.” I asked Mark Mitchell if I could think about the transmission offer overnight would the offer still stand. He said yes. (mileage 89698) JULY 16, 2014: I called Mark Murphy at Acura (they work on my car as per Honda), he said he has found a used transmission with 89,000 miles that they can put in my car for 200.00. We scheduled the appointment for July 22nd to install the used transmission. JULY 22, 2014: Used transmission was installed in the car. Mark Murphy again stated, “We may have ruined the transmission when we flushed it and put new transmission fluid in. Some transmissions don’t run well when you replace the original transmission fluid.” I told him, “I still don’t see why I’m paying for this repair.” I asked Mark if there was a warranty on the transmission they just put in my car. He said there is a 90 day warranty. I asked what does that include? Mark responded, “It will cover the parts, and labor, or maybe not the labor, I’m not sure if it will cover all the parts. Probably not a whole new transmission since we just replaced your transmission. We will work with you.” I asked for a 90 day warranty document. He said they don’t have any documentation, but it will be noted in the computer. (mileage 89723) AUGUST 5, 2014: Sudden loud scrapping sound. I go to pull over and my brakes fail. I get my car towed to Lloyd’s Automotive. (Mark Murphy recommended they are good mechanics for future repairs). Replaced Front Brake Pads and Rotors ** Bearing removed and replaced when removing the wheel the bolt fell on the floor with the axle shaft broken inside of the bolt. Removed and replaced the axle shaft, both the inner and outer axle bearings with a new seal. NOTE: THE TECH (Lloyd’s Automotive) THINKS THAT ALL PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO OVER TIGHTING THE BOLT TORQUE SPECS IS 165. RETEST AND NOISES ARE GONE AND THE BRAKES ARE WORKING AT THIS TIME. New: Front Wheel Seal, Tapered Bearing Set, Seal, Axle Shaft, CV, Core Received. MECHANICS TOLD ME THE ONLY WAY THIS BOLT COULD HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED IS WHEN THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THEY HAD TO REMOVE THIS PART TO INSTALL THE TRANSMISSION AND PUT THE PART BACK ON WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS FINISHED BEING INSTALLED. AS A RESULT THE SHAFT BROKE, MY BRAKES FAILED AND MY WHEEL WAS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE AXLE. ALSO WRECKED THE WHEEL BEARING AND DAMAGED THE ROTOR. Alignment, Timing Belt, Chain Replacement with seals, gasket, water pump and other necessary parts. Odometer: 90715 Driven since purchase: 2466 miles ***LLOYDS AUTOMOTIVE took photos of the damage done to my car from the transmission being installed by AutoNation Honda of Spokane Valley. They also gave me the damaged part for proof of damage. Paid: $1298.37 Lloyd’s Automotive as referred to me to get my car worked on in the future by Mark Murphy at AutoNation Acura. AUGUST 5, 2014: I walked immediately over to AutoNation Honda, Spokane Valley and asked to speak with the General Manager, Russ Norman. I explained all the problems I’ve had since I’ve purchased this car and the repairs that were made at Lloyds Automative today, (listed above). I showed him the broken part, the photos that Lloyds provided to me of the damage, and the invoice with the notes indicating what was the cause of the damage to my car. Russ said to me, “You can’t prove anything. We don’t know how you’ve been driving. You can’t prove we over torque the bolt. This is what happens when you buy an old car.” Then he said he could take copies of my documentation. He made photo copies and stood and didn’t say anything. I asked, “Are you going to look this over?” Russ said, “We will look it over.” I responded, “I’m sure you will.” AUGUST 7, 2014: I stopped by Lloyds Automotive and I said, “I got to thinking, if this part broke when they installed the transmission and they over torque it causing it to break, it could very likely break on the other side too, correct?” Lloyds agreed that does make sense and we scheduled an appointed for August 13th to remove the other bolt and torque it to specifications so I don’t have the same danger of the bolt snapping and causing the damage that originally happened on August 5th. Brian Hansen at Lloyds Automotive called AutoNation Honda and spoke with Russ Norman and tried to explain that he has a mutual customer and explain what happened to my car as a result of them replacing my transmission. Russ said my name came up in their meeting today and they are taking care of it. Brian did not get much opportunity to go into detail about the damage that was done to my car as a result of their repair. AUGUST 13, 2014: Lloyds replaced the other bold that holds the axle that goes through the transmission to torque specifications so I wouldn’t have to worry about it snapping like the other bolt did. Lloyds initially said they would charge me around $40.00 for the part and labor. They did not charge me for this service today. AUGUST 18, 2014: To this date, I still have not heard anything from Autonation Honda on the part breaking from them servicing my car. More

And doing it without a price agreement and then they lied about getting the approval. And so they forced them to pay the cost before getting there car back. Who would agree to put 4,000 into a car that they could only get 3,000 out of? Why wouldn't a person sell the car for three thousand and take the four thousand and buy a car for Seven thousand. Most people would not, and thats why they are Liars and thief's. Do not take your car here they are full of it and will rip you off. Not only did they do the work without cost approval they also charged over 1200.00 more than quotes we received from other service departments, for the exact services done. They will be receiving a call from our Lawyer and the Better Business Bureau and since we have done business with this terrible company in the past, buying six different cars and had plans for a new 2014 I guess they lost out on sales along with both my wife and I being local business owners, I guarantee they have lost out on a whole xxxx of a lot of Sales in the future!! This is the second time our family has had a problem with this service department , luckily the first time I a man was there to handle it. If you have to use these worthless pieces of @#$! make sure the man of the house is the one who deals with it. More
