Long story short, we got my brother-in-law the vehicle of his dreams, but it was a HORRIBLE experience at Renton Honda! They did not even congratulate him on his brand new 2024 CRV Hybrid purchase. The sales tactics at Renton Honda are predatory. They bombard you with numbers and information in an effort to make it confusing, and then get frustrated when you do not eat up their xx. I am a car guy, and have purchased 4 vehicles brand new over the last 10 years. I know the ins and outs of the system, and the pitfalls that dealerships can convince you that you need. We were greeted by Pablo, and I explained that we were looking for a 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid. We asked Pablo to evaluate our trade, and wanted to test drive a 2024 CRV. Our trade in, a 2021 CRV, was technically over mileage for the lease and this is all Pablo could focus on. After I respectfully pushed back, Pablo refused to assist us. Our total interaction with Pablo was 10 minutes, I’ve never had a salesperson quit that fast! 😂 I was honestly taken back and surprised he didn’t want our business. After all, we are well qualified and have a lease expiring in a few months. Why wouldn’t you want our business? We walked outside dumbfounded, and Nhat (our salesperson from 2021) chased after us. I explained to him how disrespected I felt. Nhat reassured us that he could help us find the vehicle we were looking for. I will say Nhat is incredibly enthusiastic and caring as a person. He goes out of his way to help his customers. I cannot say that about the other people I interacted with at Renton Honda. Nhat explained that he had been working all day and wanted to get home, but he highly recommended Raj. Raj was able to get us a decent value for our trade and we settled on a deal. My mother and brother-in-law asked me to sit in with them for the financing portion. Samantha Lemmons was working with us to secure the financing; we had already selected a loan of 4.9% APR @ 60 months. I let Samantha go through her endless presentation of brochures of demonstrations. I kindly and respectfully explained to Samantha that my brother-in-law was already at the top of his budget, and that he wasn’t interested in any add-ons. Samantha was taking everything I said personally, and it was obviously affecting her. It’s simple, we agreed to a price and monthly payment with Raj, no add-ons, and no manipulating the numbers to make it seem like we are getting a deal. Samantha made the process the worst car buying experience I’ve ever endured. Samantha got frustrated at me when I pointed out that she was suggesting my brother-in-law extend his loan to a 72 month with the packaged add-ons. She failed to explain that in doing so he would also be paying interest and car payments for another year. Samantha called Kurt (sales manager) to the office to try and have me kicked out. But I know my rights, and asked if my mother and brother-in-law wanted me there, and they both said yes. Kurt left, and Samantha stormed out in an unprofessional rage. She was so full of herself that she could not complete the transaction. They had to bring in our salesman Raj, who I believe is a manager and trained in finance to compete the deal. I was simply advocating for my family and his 1st brand new vehicle! Samantha from finance and Kurt the sales manager should be ashamed of themselves. We received no apology from the manager for Samantha’s outburst. She claimed I was threatening her, which is ridiculous! I barely spoke to her, I only was speaking to my brother-in-law about not falling for her sales pitch, and I remained respectful at all times. I will personally never buy or consider a vehicle at Autonation Honda of Renton. I can tell you they are only about the money for their bottom line. It’s very unfortunate, because Honda is a great product and with a little effort on their part, they could have made the car buying experience great for our family More

High praise for Daniel and Justin at this Dealership’s Service Department! A traumatic and nerve wracking blowout of a tire on i405 South happened after I hit an unavoidable pothole while driving the ‘2 Service Department! A traumatic and nerve wracking blowout of a tire on i405 South happened after I hit an unavoidable pothole while driving the ‘21 Honda Insight. This left me with having to have the car towed to the nearest dealership which happened to be Renton Honda. It was a Saturday and the service department was very busy. Daniel was the person the tow truck driver & I talked with. Even though they were super busy, Daniel was so accommodating & explained that while they might be able to look at and repair it that day, it was likely it would need to be kept over the weekend. Later that afternoon, Daniel sent a text with his number where I could text with questions. On Monday when I called, Daniel was out that day, Justin answered and was so very helpful, cheerful and checked into everything and let me know what was happening with the car. The tire was ordered, etc. and would be in the next day. They did a thorough job of inspection on the vehicle, and again Justin helped me when I went to pick up the car. Solid 10 🌟on the service and pleasant experience for an otherwise unpleasant set of circumstances! -Lee More
