Despite the 1 hour + drive, my husband and I drove from Maryland to Virginia on Friday, May 31, 2024. We purchased a used Honda Odyssey from the Dulles location. Our Salesman was Sam Chowdry who is one of Maryland to Virginia on Friday, May 31, 2024. We purchased a used Honda Odyssey from the Dulles location. Our Salesman was Sam Chowdry who is one of their tops in sales. Of course, that process was pleasant, he wanted the sales. Fast forward a little over a week later, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, we noticed the charging port was not working. I called Sam, and he told me he was with a customer, but would advise his manager and call me back. I never received a callback. On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, and various warnings appeared, including lane assist problems, control mitigation, and ACC. Immediately I called my salesman, Sam Chowdry. He was out, as it was his off day, but I left a voicemail message at 12:32 P.M. detailing error messages. At 12:36 P.M. 4 minutes later, I received a text from Sam. (I have the message saved in my phone.). His text said I’m off my manager said the 90-day warranty only applies to the engine and transmission. It’s a used car thanks. I am accounting for my reaction; I was pissed that he was so dismissive. I responded, so now that the sale is done, I’m on my own. Coming to Virginia benefited you. I should have stayed in Maryland and not had my husband purchase the car. He ignored me and blocked me. I even called his desk phone the next day, but because of caller ID, he refused to answer, even had a sales rep transfer me, but he would not answer. At that point, I asked for a manager. This all occurred during the big dealer outage. Someone who I thought was a manager but was unsuccessful. As a seasoned top-selling salesman, Sam should have been more respectful. He should have listened to my concerns and helped me resolve this issue. Since he has been with Honda for 9+ years, I know he is familiar with common nuisances/computer glitches. The 1 hour + drive is far from convenient, and I honestly was not going to take the ride. I was looking for assistance, a compromise, a way to troubleshoot. Also, the 90-day, 4k mile warranty indicates this should have been looked at by AutoNation. He did not talk to his manager on his day off in 4 minutes. Lies. Really? To play in my face is what irritated me. He should have referred me to a location in Maryland. He was rude and dismissive, and again, with so many years in the game should KNOW how to be more tactful. Very disingenuous. Sadly before this incident, I was going to go back down and get another vehicle from them in September. Guess I’ll stay in MD. More
The worst experience buying a car, do not waste your time they will lie to you. Always read the fine print, they lied to my face saying something couldn't be taken off when it clearly states on their papers they will lie to you.
