On August 8th, I left my vehicle at Honda 385 for repairs: Wheel alignment and a diagnostic test because of exhaust fumes spell in the vehicle and the check engine light was on. I was told they would repairs: Wheel alignment and a diagnostic test because of exhaust fumes spell in the vehicle and the check engine light was on. I was told they would call me in a couple of days to discuss the findings. I received a call on 8/14 from Lane (manager) detailing the results of the diagnostic test. I was told that the fuel pump had "gone out". I asked the manager about the fuel gauge hand because it does not indicate how much gas is in the tank. The manager told me that replacing the fuel pump would make the gauge hand function again. I authorized the repairs. On 8/16, I was told my vehicle was ready. On 8/18, I arrived to pick up my vehicle and noticed there was a vertical crack in my front window shield. I inquired about it and the service rep, Chris, did not respond with an answer. I asked Chris did the technician take my car out for a test drive after replacing the fuel pump. Chris inquired and he said the technician said my car was not taken off the lot for a test drive. He said it was test driven on the lot. Also, I told Chris that the gas gauge hand was not working and that I was told it would start working after the fuel pump was replaced. Chris had no answers. Therefore, I asked for the manager. I spoke with Lane and gave him the same concerns that I had spoken with Chris. Lane acknowledged the conversation about the fuel pump and that he was the one who told me the gas gauge hand would work, once the fuel pump was replaced. I also asked him about the crack in the window. Lane said he was not sure what happened. I told Lane the crack was not in the window when I brought my car in for repairs and that it was not just for the technicians and service reps not mention the crack. Lane stated that was not the right thing to do, but he did not acknowledge paying for window repairs. Lane did say he would have my vehicle checked again to find out why the gauge hand was not working, since the new fuel pump was applied. I left my vehicle at Honda again. I received a call later from Chris saying that Lane was mistaken that the the fuel pump installment would make the fuel gauge hand function properly. Chris told told me that to fix the gauge hand, that would be a separate cost because it was a different part of the system. Chris gave me a cost of being over one thousand dollars for the part and there would be labor cost. I did not authorize that repair. On August 21st, I had a second driver with me to picked up my vehicle. I asked Chris again about my cracked window and he said Lane did not discuss anything with him about repairing it. I asked for the regional director and Chris told me to get that information from Lane. Lane had a customer in his office. I left Honda 385. As I was driving home, I received a call from my cousin, he was the second driver. My cousin stated to me that the check engine had come back on. I immediately called Chris from the vehicle I was driving at 3:43p.m. Chris did not answer, so I left a message. Chris returned my call on the next day, August 22nd. I told Chris the check engine light was on again and that they told me the reason the check engine light was on because of the fuel pump problem. I asked Chris that since the fuel pump was all the diagnostic test determined was the issue and I had it repaired, why is the engine light coming on again? Chris told me to bring the car back to Honda. More
