Unfriendly people, customer service is very poor because it was only displayed at the end not at the beginning. I believe your that your customer deserves day to day updates on their vehicle. I scheduled my service to perform 2 recall items and investigate a transmission fluid leak. I brought the vehicle to the service department and was told I would get a phone call. That afternoon I called the dealership and was informed at that time the truck was not looked at and would probably be 3 to 4 days before they got to it. I suggested I bring it back at that time and was told that I would lose my space in line and there were over 300 vehicles waiting for service. I called back four days later and was told my contact person was with a customer and they would leave a message for him to call me. An hour later I called back and was told he had left as his shift ended at 5 pm. I called again the next day at 4:30 and was told he was in a meeting with his boss and would call back. He didn’t. I called again the next day and was told that the truck was next in line and would probably be looked at in the morning. I called back and was told it wasn’t looked at that day, day 10 of them having the vehicle. Day 12 I was informed through text message that the transmission pan needed to be replaced at a cost of nearly $1000. Day 14 I called the dealership and was told the truck would be completed that afternoon. I told the service rep that I would come to pick up the truck. I paid the bill and brought the truck home. Driving home from the dealership while stopped at an intersection I noticed smoke from beneath my truck and saw the fluid was still leaking. I contacted the dealership and scheduled to bring the truck back after confirming there was a two year warrantee on such repairs. The service department looked at the vehicle then called me to the service managers office where I was told the leak was not “from the gasket, ahh, transmission pan, but from a crack in the transmission case.” Additionally the service manager said the vehicle had been run a few minutes after the initial repair attempt to verify the gasket was not leaking. Ford owners manual recommends running the truck 10 minutes to verify the fluid level as it has to be warm. I was informed that the repair was going to be $9200 and could be several months before parts would be available. I declined their offer to at some point in the future replace the transmission. All total, 16 days to find out this information. I was told that I would be refunded my repair costs after I complained about the $585 labor cost to replace the transmission pan that has 16 bolts and could be completed within an hour by a shade tree mechanic. This entire process has soured me not only on this dealership but on Ford in general. I certainly will never darken this dealers doorway again and very likely never entertain the thought of purchasing another Ford product. The single star rating is only because zero stars is not an option. More
