I had a very negative experience dealing with Columbus Autonation North. I brought my 2020 Chrysler 300 into the service department on Monday, 20 May. The vehicle was making a strange whining noise when Autonation North. I brought my 2020 Chrysler 300 into the service department on Monday, 20 May. The vehicle was making a strange whining noise when the engine was shut off. When I dropped it off, the service person told me it would take 24-48 hours to diagnose the problem. When I did not hear back in 48 hours, I physically came back and the same service person told me that there were several cars in front of mine. I called back two days later, and the same service person told me that the engine would have to be removed from the car and potentially replaced. I did not hear anything for 4 more days. I then came back again, and the same service person told me that he did not know the status of my car. I asked to speak to the service manager. The service manager confirmed what I already believed, after 8 days, no one had ever looked at my car yet. The next day, the service department finally called me and let me know that the alternator was the problem, and would need to be replaced. He also stated that it would cost $1700. I said that sounded a little high. Almost immediately, he said that he could lower the cost of labor, and that I could get the new alternator put in for $1402.58. At that point, I just wanted my car back. When I picked it up a day later (10 day total time in shop), I again told the service person that $1400 was a little high. He said that he just puts in what the Parts Department tells him. Overall, very disappointing experience. It took over a week just to get a straight answer on the status of the vehicle. Everywhere that I have looked online states that the fair price to replace an alternator is around $700-$900. This dealership may not care, but they just lost a future customer for multiple vehicles. It's not hard to be honest. More
