Great people very willing to help and friendly. When starting my 2019 Corvette Monday afternoon for a holiday drive it began missing. The check engine light was blinking and the TCS light was solid. I called the Autonation Chevrolet Clearwater service holiday drive it began missing. The check engine light was blinking and the TCS light was solid. I called the Autonation Chevrolet Clearwater service department. Sheila Lytle, Service Manager, answered. Very sharp and knowledgeable. She grasped immediately what was going on and booked an appointment for the next morning. When I arrived Ethan Snader, Asst Mgr, took the car straight in and worked alongside Nick Bender, Corvette mechanic. Even called me twice with questions and updates. Nick diagnosed and fixed everything 100%. Ethan returned the car to me about three hours later.. Don't bother calling anywhere else. More
I have owned my 2008 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible for three years and I love it. In March 2020, the Tonneau cover - the cover that covers the hole between the head rests and the trunk - blew off. Didn't realiz years and I love it. In March 2020, the Tonneau cover - the cover that covers the hole between the head rests and the trunk - blew off. Didn't realize it and the part was forever lost on the side of I4. In any event, the top still mostly worked. As it happened I didn't quite understand the importance of this cover, namely it guided the swing out arms that cover the sides. On one particular occasion when operating the top I did not pay careful attention to the operation of these swingarms and they got stuck in the wrong position. And caused a severe malfunction of the top including a horrible dent in the roof which was mostly flattened by a local dent and scratch place for a $30.00 tip. Eventually, the top became unusable. As it happens, the car has not been in GM's spare parts system for something like five years so I was out of gas having a dealer directly fix it. About six months later an Ebay watch turned up an acceptable condition Tonneau cover assembly (all parts cover, arms, hydraulics, etc) for only $455.00. Pulled off a low mileage donor car. I pulled the trigger before I had a place to install it. I had tried pretty diligently previously to repair this and there was no shop in town who remotely instilled any confidence. There are a number of specialty shops in Tampa/Clearwater and believe me I spoke with half of them at least. I took it into another GM dealership (unnamed) who even said their last convertible repair ended in litigation! At wits end, I just drove into AutoNatiton Chevrolet and talked to Michelangelo (Mike #3) Mazzo's next door neighbor in the queue about my particular issue. Mike overheard the conversation when he was on the phone and mentioned "Oh sure, easy peasy..." After he finished the call he stated yeah they'd done at least three in the last three months but it was gonna cost me :). Just so you know I know it was gonna cost me .... I own the car and love the car and I'll get to cost. So... We talk and he said it would be straight time $160.00 an hour. Not a problem. Probably take 6 hours. Not a problem. I dropped the car off on a Tuesday and signed the contract - don't call me if repairs exceed $1,200.00. ... I talk to him Wednesday afternoon and he said, yep, she's almost done just needs some buttoning up. I get in Thursday morning at 0800. I see my car idleing in the parking lot on the side. Obvisously all buttoned up. It's 48 degrees outside unusually cold for Florida on this particular day. I go in talk to Mike. "What's the damage Mike?" .... $999.00! I gave $5.00 to their cancer charity $1004.00 for the repair and $494.00 for the part. I have exercised my top pretty much daily since. I have a new found confidence in my G6 knowing that if there is a problem, I know there is a professional, courteous, and competent place I can take it to. I am incredibly grateful to Mike and his Mechanics ( :) ) who did such an outstanding job! More
This place sucks. They have the worst service department I have ever been in. Once you discuss your issue with them they block you from leaving reviews on their website. Buyer Beware!! Voided My Warranty after 25,700 miles for idling too much. Beware of new diesels and AutoNation, Jack Mathews and GM Rep Eddy Dixon. Brought my 2019 HD 3500 in for the second time with a limp mode issue. Has Beware of new diesels and AutoNation, Jack Mathews and GM Rep Eddy Dixon. Brought my 2019 HD 3500 in for the second time with a limp mode issue. Has 25,700 miles. They actually counted the idling hours and calculated to 36,135 miles. Wanted to charge me $3000.They offered some assistance and backed off and my warranty was voided just minutes after I declined the offer and wanted a second opinion. WOW!!!!!! My vehicle was regened 1 day before at another auto shop in Orlando. The diagnosis was conflicting. This is why I wanted to go to another dealer. Tried making an appointment with Maher Chevrolet. They REFUSED me service. And this was just a few minutes after I left AutoNation. The voided warranty was not even in the system yet. Now, it almost impossible to sell or trade in or even fix my vehicle. The part is not even available!!!!!! How can any human being not be livid about this? I idled my truck too much according to the AutoNation service. I was never told this. I brought it in for the same problem two months ago. This is disheartening. I have been a GM guy my entire life. GM is now officially causing me problems with my business. We live in Florida. It is hot. I need my a/c while I am operating business. I sit in my truck and take calls while it idles. I have an active business , so this happens often. My employees also need to cool off. I was told to use a fan. Wow. No one told me idling your truck was detrimental to the engine. I have 5 other older diesels. My warning to the public is buy an older diesel. I did not purchase my truck from this dealer. The policy is from Chevrolet. Had GM's my entire life. I have a work truck. You do not sit in a hot truck right? What did I do wrong? Jack Mathews is the man responsible for this in my opinion. He is the director of service. It was him in my opinion who told the GM regional manager a story that caused my warranty to be voided. Who else could it be? It was not the janitor. This is inhumane. My faith in GM is gone. I will never buy a new GM product again. Jack Mathews told me to by a fan for the truck. The nerve of him to say that as he sits in an air conditioned office. I travel all over Florida with several trucks. I am without my most important truck. I can lose my business. OMG. Why was the warranty voided? Was it the review? Was it because I refused his offer and wanted a second opinion? I hope this never happens to you. It has caused me a lot of pain. A lot of pain. If someone could please inform me on what to do my name is on the review. $65,000 is a major loss for anyone. I contacted the GM of AutoNation. He indirectly said he is helpless and denied most of what I said. Check https://www.dealerrater.com/ for this dealers rating. I am also a computer developer and a pretty successful internet marketer. The service guy Dave was very welcoming at first and said he would charge $129 for the diagnosis. Three hours later I called to hear the result and he said he had nothing to tell me. About one hour later I stopped by the dealership when I noticed my car still parked outside the shop. I asked the service guy again for the diagnosis and all he could tell me was to check back in an hour or so. I asked him what was the point of me making an appointment when four and a half hours later the car has not been touched. He dumb reply made no sense when you consider the short time it takes to stick a device in the vehicle, get the codes and determine the problem. I asked him for my keys and left. These people advertise service as being very important however they suck at customer service. They have no service management skills and are a disgrace to their profession. Do not use this dealership unless you enjoy being jerked around by these service pretenders. More
Getting a return phone call is next to impossible I have called several times trying to get information on my cars service history. I can never seem to get a hold of a service person that can help. Cu I have called several times trying to get information on my cars service history. I can never seem to get a hold of a service person that can help. Customer service keeps telling m that someone will call me back but that never happens. I’m not calling to complain, I’m just trying to get the service history on the car that was service there. Wow, if I can’t get a return call for that I can’t imagine ever trying to get through if I really had a problem. More
