I recently tried to trade in my car at AutoNation Chevrolet of Doral, but I was highly disappointed with their appraisal process. Despite my car being in perfect condition and well-maintained, the de Chevrolet of Doral, but I was highly disappointed with their appraisal process. Despite my car being in perfect condition and well-maintained, the dealership offered me an extremely low trade-in value that was far below the KBB “Fair Trade-In Value” for my vehicle (2023 Kia K5 GT 2.5L w/ GT1 Package). They tried justifying this lowball price by sending screenshots of a lower trim option of my vehicle. Brand New that lower trim sells for $6,000 less than the trim that I have. I pointed this out and they came back and said “Oh no we did it for the correct trim and it was the same thing”, which is obviously a blatant attempt at deception. When I questioned their offer and tried to negotiate, the salesperson (“Edwin Caldera”) was dismissive and stated maybe I should sell my car somewhere else and then buy their car. It was clear that they had no interest in offering a fair price for my trade-in and were more interested in making a quick profit off of my purchase and trade. He insisted that he was right and I was wrong when I stated that maybe it’s best to continue my search elsewhere. This is no way to treat a customer and was definitely not a mature way to handle my decline of their offer for my vehicle. True colors were shown once I stated I was no longer interested. Definitely avoid this sales representative at all costs. Overall, I would not recommend AutoNation of Doral if you are looking for a fair trade-in value for your car. Their appraisal process is highly questionable and their sales staff are unhelpful and dismissive. They claim they don’t honor the KBB Trade-In Value, but expect/demand that I pay the KBB Value for their vehicle. Seems like a dealership with double standards that’s only interested in making a quick buck on clients that don’t know how to perform market research on their vehicles. Please do your research on the market for your vehicle before proceeding with any purchase with this dealership. More
