Originally had scheduled battery replacement for tomorrow. However; the battery died last Friday. Had to get a jump. Once I did, l went straight to the dealership and they were able to replace it tomorrow. However; the battery died last Friday. Had to get a jump. The problem occurred when I asked that the breaks be checked on a vehicle I wanted to purchase because they are grinding. Sales manager said the breaks had been replaced. I just pulled front wheels off checked on a vehicle I wanted to purchase because they are grinding. Sales manager said the breaks had been replaced. I just pulled front wheels off and new pads had been put on bad rotors. Their shop made a poor mechanical repair and no one seams to be checking or care..Then the corporate policy to have proof of insurance on my cash purchase vehicle prior to take home was unusual and will cause me to shop elsewhere next time. I was not told this policy prior to my insurance company close on three day weekend. I was not able to just provide my current insurance card as proof. Interestedly, I was able to test drive the vehicle with this proof but not drive it home…Not a customer friendly or safety concerned dealership. More
My new 2022 GMC Sierra AT4 had a cooling system problem with fewer than 6,000 miles. I scheduled an appointment online and took the truck to the dealership quickly. When I arrived, I spoke to the Assistant with fewer than 6,000 miles. I scheduled an appointment online and took the truck to the dealership quickly. When I arrived, I spoke to the Assistant Service Manager who helped me get the service order input. He didn’t do a great job at explaining the service process or setting my expectations about the time for repair. He promised to contact me later in the day with an update, but didn’t. I called him and he informed me that the vehicle would not be ready for two days. When I asked about a loaner vehicle, he said the dealership had 6 loaner cars and they were all booked out. He couldn’t give me any other option for how to deal with my loss of a vehicle for a total of 3 days. On the day of pickup, I received a text message with a video showing the repair was underway. The message didn’t include any other information…such as an ETA for completion. I called the dealership and found out the ASM who was helping me was off for the day. It was around 2PM on a Friday when I was told to come pick up the truck. The dealership has a shuttle service available M-F from 8AM to 2PM. If your repair isn’t complete before 2PM, getting to the dealership is on you. I took an Uber to the dealership to pick up my vehicle. The guy who helped me was friendly and quick, but didn’t appear to have easy access to the status of my vehicle and had to ask his manager for help. Overall, I am not happy about the experience I had with this dealership. If my $100K vehicle breaks down, I should be given a loaner. Period. I should not have to call the dealership for updates. They should over-communicate with me. They should set expectations and deliver. More
