Always have my SUV checked out at Henderson dealership because they check everything out and if anything needs to be fixed in the future they let you know that as well. Very pleasant service writer. I waited for 3 1/2 hours - then saw the van out in the parking lot - and upset - asked what the heck was going on. The service guy made a special exception for me and got the van in to be checked after 4 hours....Why make an appointment to bring the car in at 8 AM when it's going to be checked at 1pm? I ended up sitting at the dealer almost all day. I was told the oil temp sensor was intermittent. It was replaced at the rather spectacular cost of $550. I was given the car - and drove out - with the oil pressure gauge showing just the same as when I had brought it in. The tech must have driven it. He must have known it was not fixed but I was not given any warning... I called service guy over the next day or two. He's a nice guy. I enjoyed chatting with him. He was shocked! shocked that nothing had changed.... and asked me to bring it in any time. Then I did an oil and filter change. I had known that a clogged oil filter could cause this problem but I still had a significant amount of life left in that filter. Still it WAS the oil filter. As soon as that was changed the pressure returned to normal. For me it's not so much that they missed the problem - it's that they didn't fess up and tell me the problem still existed...That would have gone a long way to reducing my upset. I don't think they ripped me off - I think they just made a mistake. They've actually done fine with servicing the van before, and this time they checked the brakes and transmission and said they were fine. My biggest beef is that the van clearly wasn't fixed and they let me discover that fact myself. Why would I return to a place that does that? More
