After a lot of research, i finalized on three dealers -- Boch Motors, Northend Motors and Automax Preowned. I visited Boch, but i think they are least bothered about selling the car. Then i went to North end motors. All 3 cars, which i short listed, was not available and already sold out. But those were showing on the website as available. The Sales person was good and polite, but he was trying to push a little to buy other models, which i was not vey much interested. Then i came to Automax Preowned, Marlborough. I came here last as it was 35 miles away and was not very much serious about them. But after coming here and meeting Chris, it was really a very very nice experience. He helped me in browsing through the inventory in snowfall and i went for test drive with 3-4 cars. Then i finalized for Honda Accord. Chris also helped me in replacing the new tires and replacing the new breaks, as i asked for that. He provided me floor mats as well. He helped me immensely in my paperwork as well. I refered one of my friend and he also bought a car from CHris, for which Chris also gifted me 100$ referral bonus. Being an alien citizen, it was really a difficult task. But being at Automax Preowned and with Chris, all these seems to be a cakewalk for me. I strongly recommend this dealer to everybody. Thank you, Shiba Parida More
Bad Experience! I bought a VW CC from these folks and it was the worst experience I ever had with a dealership and is a prime example of why used car dealers have bad I bought a VW CC from these folks and it was the worst experience I ever had with a dealership and is a prime example of why used car dealers have bad reputations. Reasons? 1.) During the test drive, the car smelled strongly of "perfume". I found out later that is because the prior owner was a chain smoker and I eventually had to pay for an ozone treatment to get rid of it. 2.) The car was not ready on time and the salesman did not call to let me know, stating "I was just going to call you" at pick up time. Not good, especially since I shifted my schedule to get the car. That said, I called him several times for various reasons and left messages; he never called back. 3.) The salesman was telling me about loans I could get while stating out loud my credit score, loud enough for all in the place to hear. Not good business practice. 4.) The finance guy is a high pressure type who tells you what you need with the car, whether you want it or not. After a bit or wrangling, that was curtailed. 5.) Found out our first road trip the car had a bad wheel bearing. I called the salesman several times and he never returned my calls. I finally brought it in and had to pay for a rental car out of my pocket, though I had the car only a few days. When I dropped the car off, the salesman looked at me like an idiot, guess he saw the pissed off look I had and was afraid to talk to me. 6.) I called the finance guy for copies of paperwork my daughter inadvertently threw out. After several messages (there is a trend here), I finally spoke to him. He took down my email address and assured me I would receive the documents soon...I never did. 7.) No follow up call from anyone. My advice? Learn from the mistakes of myself and the other reviewers. Stay away from these folks and research anyone you might buy from. Wish I did! More
The experience of buying from Automax was just what I want and expect -dealt with Paul and Al. Had done plenty of research so knew I was getting a good, solid deal and the entire process was efficient and painless. For now, I'll reserve judgment on the quality of the vehicle I just purchased but I expect it will turn out great. They did a nice job prepping the car for delivery. More
This experience began about six months ago when my windows began to stop working intermittently. When pressure was applied to the door, the windows would work, but this trick soon began to lose its effect and the windows stopped working completely. When I had called up Nissan Marlborough initially, I had spoken to a receptionist in Service who said that my part was not covered, and to find out I would have to commit to some payment. As a purchaser of an extended warranty, I ignored her and drove around angrier than heck that my new-ish car was having old car problems. Upon receipt of a recall notice from Nissan, I had brought the car in and fought my way to a technician on the phone. Once they were on the line, I was able to find out a trove of information about my policy, including the fact that my window malfunctions were covered. When that problem was solved, it was as easy as bringing the car in and having the work done, and picking it up at the end of the day. Oil changes are about $5 more, but they can run diagnostics on your Nissan like a small shop can't. Main take away - make sure to talk to the technicians about any car problems and how it relates to your policy. Once that hurdle is overcome, they are a very knowledgeable and skillful service shop that costs a little more than Johnny Mechanic, but is usually worth the cost More
i worked with paul dicarlo - very nice very straight forward. he knew what he was talking about and told the truth which was most important to me. the car i bought was in an accident and he didn't try t forward. he knew what he was talking about and told the truth which was most important to me. the car i bought was in an accident and he didn't try to hide it for a second. There were a few scratches on the car - everything was taken care of and painted like new. When i took the car home i noticed another scratch that i wanted taken care of and they are going to take care of it no problem. the guys sell a lot of cars so they are more worried about their reputation and quality of service than they are just pushing that one extra car off the lot. overall great experience- i would recommend it to anyone looking for used cars. -dan More

I came across a 2011 Honda Pilot on carguru.com. Their prices seemed to be lower than other dealers, so I called Automax Preowned, Marlborough and spoke to Chris Trombley. He was very nice, and helpful o prices seemed to be lower than other dealers, so I called Automax Preowned, Marlborough and spoke to Chris Trombley. He was very nice, and helpful on the phone. I arranged to go look at the car a few days later, and after test driving it, decided to come back the following week to buy it. I was told that if I gave Automax a 2 hour time window, they would have someone there to take care of my registration. I arrived to find out this was not the case and that I'd need to go to the Framingham store to do so. When I arrived in Framingham, I was told that the Marlborough store had filed out my title wrong. A Minor annoyance. My real complaint is that prior to purchase, I asked about the brake pads and were told they were "almost 100%". I decided not to have my mechanic look at the car because it was 45 minutes away, and the vehicle was only 2 years old with low miles. After purchasing the car, I did have my mechanic look it over and the brake pads were only at 20%! I took the car to 2 other shops and they all verified this information. Automax did agree to replace the pads for me, but I spent the better part of a day driving there, waiting, and then driving home. I was also informed that although the tires passed inspection (done by Automax mind you) they were on the cusp of failing, and will soon need to be replaced. Several weeks later, I received a card in the mail that included a Valet key that must have surfaced after I purchased the car. In the end, I don't think the aggravation was worth the little bit of money I saved on the car. If you plan to shop here, I would DEFINITETLY recommend getting the car checked out by a 3rd party before your final purchase. More
