This is the second car we have purchased at Automax. The first car was purchased 7 years ago, and we have been pleased, so we returned to Automax for our second preowned car. Experienced sales people helped to register the car and provide information to meet our needs. The SUV that we choose was missing a manual, so our salesperson, Armand, ordered one from the dealer without charge. The sale was quick and without any hassle. This is the first time I have been to Automax, it is a very pleasant car buying experience. They have by far the best prices for preowned cars, when you consider the condition and mileage. There one was one item with the car, and when I came to pick the car up the door seal wasn't just repaired, it was replaced. If you hate the car buying experience, this dealership will change that. I did extensive shopping prior to this dealer, which is a few hours away from me. I loved the extensive amount of information on the website (Carfax, pictures). Automax had two vehicles comparable in price few hours away from me. I loved the extensive amount of information on the website (Carfax, pictures). Automax had two vehicles comparable in price and equipment to one I test drove locally, but with about 15,000 less miles (40%)! Because they had two vehicles of interest, I called to confirm they were available and wanted many questions answered prior to making the trip. Kevin was very helpful over the phone, answering as much as he could remotely. This way I had all necessary paperwork and payment ready to go, if I decided I liked the car. On site, Kevin went over every inch of the two cars of interest with me. His prior experience as a mechanic was very helpful, and he seemed extremely knowledgeable- which stands out when the dealer is not focused solely on one manufacturer. At the same time, there was no trace being condescending or patronizing (as a female I still got this treatment at other places). I would strongly recommend requesting Kevin. Could be partially because of the ongoing construction, but you won't leave the place feeling pampered or luxurious. This was totally fine with me as I was interested in a *great price*, promptly executed sale, and no surprises. Areas for improvement: My chosen car only had one key with it. This was non-negotiable, no budging on the price when I've got to now pay a couple hundred to have a new one made. After I made my final decision, it took almost another three hours to drive away. I wish this part could have been faster. Most of the time was spent with service doing a final review & clean of the car. It could also have been caused by Kevin having to do all the purchase and trade-in work, with 3-4 other sales guys standing around. Seems like they could team up a little when not busy. Bottom line, the buying experience takes 1/2 a day when you'll have the car and payments for a long time. I am thrilled with my low-mileage, LOW-PRICE, loaded with options car! I would absolutely recommend Kevin and Automax to anyone. More

I was under pressure to get a car because I starting a new job at a commuter location in a week. I had never owned a car before and it was my first time to buy one. At the 2 other dealers I visited, the car I wanted was "just bought" or "no longer available" and they had me look at similar cars with a higher price range. At Automax Preowned in Framingham, their online inventory was up to date and reliable. I was able to see the exact same car online for the $200 lover than it was offered online. The car (2009) spoke for itself. It was clean and had no visible issues in person or on the Carfax. That said, I wish my friendly salesman, Paul could have done a little more selling to reassure me that I was getting a good buy (which I was). I was not offered a test drive and I think it was because there were several other people interested in the car I wanted. Still it was a nice car and maybe that is why they didn't see the need to really sell it. Another thing that made me have niggling doubts about the car was the fact that I could only take it to a mechanic within 5 miles of the dealership location. I decided to buy the car and here my experience was a little better. Sal, who handles the finances, was very helpful and professional. He helped me get financing despite my awful credit and gave me 2 days to finalize my decision and think it over. I looked for a mechanic in the area and had them check the car. I was given a chance to shop around for other financing (which I failed at), think about the powertrain warranty they had offered (an extra $1500 which I eventually declined), shop around for insurance and basically held this car for me until I was sure I wanted it. I returned to dealership and drove off with my almost-new car within an hour. I have a few minor questions for their service center but all in all I am satisfied with my purchase. More
