We choose not to finalize this sale outside of New England because of the travel required on the customer to come and sign the final paperwork for the new vehicle. The discounts we have been given are ONLY for New England residents and do not transfer outside of New England. Additionally, the customer would be responsible to pick up the vehicle with their own plates and registration as Massachusetts does not allow for temporary plates to be given at the time of sale. First of all you choose not to finalize this sale outside of New England because of the travel required BUT I was the one who WANTED to drive the 1,500 miles and trade in my 2015 WRX Limited with 65,000. Second I totally think what you saying about the discount is true "The discounts we have been given are ONLY for New England residents and do not transfer outside of New England." Problem is people should not have to read the fine print to know that but that was what Kim was for to inform me of how unfair the deal was. Third as you said "Additionally, the customer would be responsible to pick up the vehicle with their own plates and registration as Massachusetts does not allow for temporary plates to be given at the time of sale." AGAIN I was ready to drive up and trade in my 2015 WRX Limited for the new car WHICH I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING UP, understood. That was my point was to come pick up the car it's what I have always done for out of state purchases, go pick up the car. Fourth regarding the temp tags not being something Massachusetts allows, yet another reason not to purchase a car from the state of Massachusetts unless you are to be so lucky to reside on that specific spot of the earth. Fifth I told Kim that I should be able to just come up and trade in my car put my license plates on the new car and when we got back to our state I would license it at my DMV. Kim said that would not be an option and that I would have to come out sign papers, then drive back get my plates and then MAKE A SECOND TRIP BACK to drive the car off the lot. Sixth there is no way that people deal with that, I know I wouldn't even if you offered me the car for the price it was actually ADVERTISED for Massachusetts residents, you must lose out of state business easily. What a dealer deal killer, again I feel sorry for the next out of state buyers looking at the Autofair Subaru website, just make sure when they call Kim gives them the truth like she did to me please. I have seen other reviews of people complaining about the same type of experience on Yelp and a few others even Google so I guess I can't be surprised and would have known better if I had read reviews on the dealership first but usually things are not that difficult, unnecessary and unacceptable. All in all I am ecstatic that you replied back Jose as I sent my review to almost every single review location I could including the dealership's contact us page, Kim's email and yours on August 16th and this is my first response back after a month and a half later. I am also working to get my review viewable again on your MyBusiness Google reviews as some one has contacted Google to have it removed, I only what to provide people with my genuinely "not so pleasant" experience. Ignorance is bliss, your Subaru dealership lost my sale and another Subaru dealer gained it, can't be good for business. Done, but would love to talk with someone about how that was in the "let's make money and make people happy business model" that is or isn't being applied. Sincerely, Nathan Riley
