Hi Amy, Thank you for taking the time and speaking with me about your experience. In response to your review, as we were in the process of making things right for you and your Edge, you made the decision that you felt it was no longer safe for you and your family. Per your request, we were able to get you out of your Edge into an Explorer. We were also able to get you very close to your original payment while using the same term even though it had been less than 6 months since you purchased your Edge. The Explorer you purchased is, in fact, a Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicle which entitles you to 12 months and 12k miles limited “Bumper to Bumper” warranty and 7 years to 100k miles powertrain warranty – both though Ford Motor Company. When you brought your Explorer in for the A/C issue, the CPO Limited “Bumper to Bumper” had lapsed due to being past the 12 month timeframe afforded by the warranty. We diagnosed the vehicle and quoted $1150 for the repair using Genuine Motorcraft parts and a Factory-Trained technician. We can understand the frustration when a repair is needed just beyond the expiration of a warranty. We can reach out to Ford Motor Company in these situations to try and get an exception or another form of remedy, as long as the vehicle is repaired through our Service Department. Unfortunately though, you removed your vehicle from our service department and brought it to another mechanic for repair making it impossible to pursue a remedy through Ford. We did, however, take care of your rental as a measure of goodwill. We know that it can be tough to be in a situation like this. We always try to help all of our customers in the most fair and appropriate way possible. Should you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly.
