Price switch based on misrepresentation April 20, 2020 Rating of Auto Web Expo. Auto Web Expo, Inc. 2311 Midway Rd. Carrollton, Texas 75006 On or about December 30,2019, I notic April 20, 2020 Rating of Auto Web Expo. Auto Web Expo, Inc. 2311 Midway Rd. Carrollton, Texas 75006 On or about December 30,2019, I noticed a 2013 Lexus 350 GS advertised on Car Gurus by Auto Web Expo (AWE). Mileage was listed at 72,551 miles and the price was $16,460.00. See attached copy of post. I visited AWE at the above referenced address and met Mr. Travis Trenkle, who represented himself as an AWE internet manager. I advised Mr. Trenkle that I would arrange my own financing. During a subsequent meeting with Mr. Trenkle I was subjected to a sales pitch by Mr. Faseli ( Manager) to finance my purchase through AWE lenders. I declined. Afterwards the price of the vehicle was increased to $17,098.00. When Mr. Trenkle was questioned about the increase, his response was: "I just went to ask why the price increased for you. Looks like we did the complete full- service to the Lexus. Oil change, filter change, cabin filter, tire rotation, alignment, and state inspection. That's why it (the increase was) added to the price." See attached copy of email. I relied on this representation by Mr. Trenkle and a AWE that the work was performed after the $16,460.00 price was agreed to, even though I had not authorized the additional work. Later, I discovered that the "complete full service" was unrelated to the price increase. It appears that the price was increased after Mr. Trenkle and AWE learned that I would provide my own financing. The "complete full service" was not the basis for the price increase since the work was not performed at all, or prior to the original pricing of $16,460.00, to wit: 1) Oil change was completed on January 13, 2020, a week or more after it was supposedly an element of the price increase; see attached image; 2) Filter (oil) was completed on January 13,2020; see attached image; 3) Cabin filter was not done (see photo attached and AWE internal document); 4) Tire rotation was not done (see attached AWE internal document); 5) Alignment was not done ( see attached AWE internal document); and 6) State inspection was completed in December 2019 with a mileage reading of 72,551, which is the mileage reading shown in the Car Gurus posting with a price of $16,460.00. (See attached document.) On February 28, 2020, I emailed his concerns to Mr. Trenkle. No response. Then, I emailed Steve Martin, an AWE manager, on March I I, 2020, in order to settle these claims amicably. No response. I mailed the above concerns and documents to Mr. Ardi Faseli ( Manager ) via Certified Mail: 7014 2120 0000 8849 9931 Return Receipt Requested. This letter was written by my attorney and received by Mr. Faseli on April 7th. Mr. Faseli did not respond within the time period specified (10 days). Damages requested were as follows. Quoted from the letter to Mr. Faseli. “In addition, the driver's seat failed as shown in the attached image. It appears that one of your mechanic's back pockets must have contained a tool. Mr. Kester expects the seat to be repaired at your cost, estimated at $. This is included in the damages below. Replacement shall be completed with Lexus certified materials. I am sure you are unaware of and do not want these deceptive practices by your employee to continue. My damages amount to $Please send your check in that amount to Paul Kester within 10 days of receipt of this letter”... Perhaps AWE sees itself as above responding. All documentation is available for those with interest. Best practices if you intend to deal with AWE. 1) Have all pricing confirmed in writing on first visit. 2) Negotiate with your bank or credit union for financing. 3) Avoid AWE lenders, AWE is a loan mill. 4) Avoid AWE car repair service. They will misrepresent any service. More
