While traveling east on I-80 just south of Chicago we experienced a violent front-end shaking on our truck. It's a 2017 F-350. We went into a Ford dealer in Elkhart, Indiana. They told us everything was fine. Not to worry. Likely an anomaly. Next day, same thing. Hit some pavement breaks and the truck shook again. Went to Auto Park Ford in Sturgis, Michigan. They found the problem; a bad track bar ball joint and steering shock. Since we were just traveling through, and the problem was a safety issue, they got us right in and fixed it. We are very, very grateful and appreciative to them for the great work! More

Our new best friends work at Auto Park Ford We are a two-car family. One of our cars is a Ford Focus which we bought from a fantastic Ford dealership near our home. Our other car died and we had We are a two-car family. One of our cars is a Ford Focus which we bought from a fantastic Ford dealership near our home. Our other car died and we had been driving a "lovely" early-1990's Oldsmobile that my father sold to us. Now let me tell you: when my dad is selling a car, there's a reason. In this case, one reason was that our other car died and he was considering selling that car so he sold it to us. (Yay!) The other reason was that this car had served its usefulness. (Hmmm....) It was gold. (GOLD!) It had a comfy cushion on top of the driver's side seat (because without it, the driver's bottom was hanging pretty low). The muffler made a noise reminiscent of an outboard motor. We had to make sure that our kids' tetanus shots were up to date thanks to the rusty rear quarter panel that they swear bit them each time they exited the vehicle. The "new" battery had to be replaced last month when I found myself stranded in a shopping plaza between a Panera and a Jersey Mike's and the smell of subs combined with the exhaust of the cars on the main road was getting to me (I know that there are worse things but it was 98 degrees in the shade and I JUST-WANTED-TO-GO-HOME). Did I mention the absence of A/C? I know, I know...first world problems. And yet, it was time for a new car We live in Illinois, about 40 miles outside of Chicago. Our kids are growing. REALLY growing. And fast! My husband and I are close to 6-feet tall. And my in-laws are now 80. Let's just say that trips with the family mean that my husband drives his parents' car with one of the kids and his dad, and I drive our Focus with the other child and my mother-in-law. (Let me just say that I adore my mother-in-law. But it is clear that she does not always adore being in the front seat of a car with me. Something she muttered about being able to see death coming at her while I was behind the wheel makes me assume this fact.) At any rate, we began to look around for a car and decided that a Ford Flex would be the answer. It was roomy enough for our tall family (and our son's continuously-growing feet), and had extra seating for my husband's parents. In the middle row. Where they could occupy their time reading, napping, looking out of the moon roof...pretty much anything to divert them from my (or my husband's) very cautious and safe driving. So we began our search for a used Flex (because seriously, a NEW Flex costs more than we wanted to pay). Our favorite hometown Ford dealer did not have a Flex. Other nearby dealers had older models. We increased our search radius. We found some Flexes in Wisconsin and Missouri. They were nice. But they were older. Or expensive. Or both. *sigh* Maybe we needed to patient. But one lucky day, my amazing husband (who I am sure won't read this) (OK, he will...hi, honey!) found a Flex at Auto Park Ford in Sturgis, MI. STURGIS! That's three hours from us. THREE. But we wanted to make sure that we looked everywhere necessary to get a good deal. And this one was a good deal. He began an e-mail friendship with Sandee Owen, the most patient salesperson to ever sell anything. She got back to him promptly. She answered all of his questions (and believe me, there were many). She gave us a reasonable price and explained WHY it was reasonable. She even got us pre approved in case we came out to drive it and ended up loving it. OK, we decided that we would drive THREE HOURS to see this car. We finally got to Auto Park Ford and met Sandee. On the way we worried. What if the car wasn't the one advertised? What if the dealership was a bit on the shady side? What if Sandee was just plain nuts? (Oh come on, if you've ever made a large purchase, you've had the same thoughts!) We arrived. We saw the car. We met Sandee. We were relieved! Sandee took us for a test drive. We headed into town for a little in-town cruising. We headed out past the high school for a bit of country driving. The Flex was fantastic! And for an embarrassing amount of time, I forgot that Sandee was there to sell us a car. Instead, I felt like we had a cousin along for the ride. She explained her own experiences with the Flex. She talked about the great features of the vehicle. She related a story of traveling across the country for an 8-day vacation with the Flex, six people, and plenty of room for luggage. She understood every part of the vehicle from the tires to the storage area to the transmission. She then proceeded to even give us ideas of where to stop for lunch! At some point on this test drive, and way earlier than I'd expected, my husband said, "Well, this is good. Let's take it." Now my beloved is many, many things. But spontaneous in regards to parting with money is not one of them. Seriously. The family joke (or truth) is that when he opens his wallet, the presidents squint. So for him to be completely comfortable with parting with our money is saying a lot. I knew what we could afford and he knew what we could afford. I knew that if I loved the car, we'd make a purchase. I knew that if he didn't feel 100 percent comfortable with this purchase, he'd have buyer's remorse for years. Thanks to Sandee being upfront about every aspect of our purchase, buyer's remorse never was an issue. After our test drive, Sandee introduced us to Andrew Eger who handled our financing paperwork. Again, we felt like we were sitting down with family to discuss this purchase. Andrew is clearly a no-nonsense numbers guy. He knows his stuff. And he is patient enough to put up with my husband and I so that gives him additional points in my book. Ok, so we sign the paperwork, Sandee gets our phones all hooked up to the fancy-schmancy Bluetooth system in our new (but slightly used) Flex, and we get to talking about how our Ford Focus needs some work done (manufacturer-recall items) but the Ford mechanics are on strike back home. Sandy tells us to schedule a date, bring in the car for service to Auto Park Ford, and then take the Flex to Shipshewana for the day while they service our vehicle. Seriously? Sure. They do it all. In fact, before we left they were happy to hook us up with new custom floor mats which were less expensive than those made-to-order mats you see advertised on billboards. They even had them shipped directly to our home for free. We really do love Sandee and the folks at Auto Park Ford. The three hour trip was well worth the drive! We found our favorite vehicle ever and we were taken care of like family. Thanks to Sandee and Andrew, as well as the other folks we met (but whose names I can't recall), we have a great car and people we will return to for future purchases! Thanks to all of them for a wonderful experience. We promise that we will be back (because three hours of travel time means nothing when you're dealing with family whom you actually like). xoxo More

We had problems with our My husband and I are from Northeast Ohio and were on our way to Sturgis, South Dakota for a 2-years-in-the-planning vacation. We had problems with our transmission, and we went to Auto Park Ford in Sturgis, Michigan (yes, I said "Sturgis!") to see if they could help us. They IMMEDIATELY put our truck on a lift, and unfortunately found out that our transmission was cracked and totalled. Our hearts plummeted, and I thought that our vacation was over before it even started. Well, the only option that we had, if we wanted to salvage our vacation, was to buy a vehicle; so, we sat down in the sales office. In less than 3 hours, we were on our way to South Dakota in a beautiful, brand new Ford F-150! These people at this dealership, from the service personnel to the sales employees, were the nicest and most understanding people we have ever met! They treated us with the utmost respect and worked extremely fast to get us on the road again. All of our questions were answered... All of our needs were met. We can't thank this group of people enough... They deserve the highest form of praise for what they did for us! I want to mention some of the people that went out of their way to help us in our time of need. Thank you so much to Rick Kobold, Moe Reeves, Kristol Flowers, and Andrew Eger. I apologize if anyone was left out.... Just know that the employees at this dealership deserve extra-special recognition, as they made it their mission to turn a dire circumstance into a wonderful experience! We can't thank them enough!!!! And, WE LOVE OUR NEW FORD!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, AUTO PARK FORD!!!! Sincerely, Taunya & Tim Smock Ashtabula, Ohio More
