My truck has been off the road, the transmission went out after only 5 months of having it. Mind you all of my vehicles are taken care of and well maintained, contacted Automax in Yakima where I bought it be after only 5 months of having it. Mind you all of my vehicles are taken care of and well maintained, contacted Automax in Yakima where I bought it because when I purchased it they told me they have a shop on site and they provide discounts for customers who purchased there . Warranty is expired mind you, but the shop tells me I need a new transmission and the transmission went out gave me a price which was what the other shops gave zero discount. The owner tells me that the shop is connected to them , but privately owned. Finally contacted my bank and insurance letting them know what was going on, the regional manager advised me he would contact the dealership because they have a contract with them and he thought they should take care of it since I had the vehicle for only 5 months. First day he told me they would make sure I wouldn't pay for the repair because it should never have happened. The second time we spoke he said he would contact the dealership and see if he can get the repair price lower or switch me out to a new truck of equal or lesser value. A few days later still no word and I called the owner and he says the most he can do is knock off $1000 but I still pay out of pocket whether or not I'm going to replace the transmission or switch trucks . I told him I would see what options they had but was set on keeping the Warn winch and gun rack set up in my truck. I told him of a possible replacement and he said he would contact me with the details on the replacement truck. Days passed and I called him, he says if I want to switch trucks I will have to pay another down payment, so either choice they gave me required me to fork out thousands of dollars. I saved for a long time to invest in this truck, I know some things are unexpected but 5 months lol that is just ridiculous! Long story short, I am never purchasing another truck from this lot ever again, so if you are thinking of it, good luck with that! I looked up lots in Yakima too before purchasing, and never thought a highly reviewed business would sell me a lemon smh. Due to me living in goldendale and all contact being via phone I didn’t have any record of him saying $1000 would be knocked off the repair from before , and when I asked the owner did not acknowledge it. I just ended paying the $4700 (which is around what any regular shop was requesting for repairs that I called around too )out of pocket for the transmission repair, and now I just have to play the waiting game until I get a running vehicle back! And pay an additional $80 when I pick up my truck I was told. More
