When we picked out the car we were interested in the fact that I didn't need to have a sales person drive with me was refreshing. It was like a breath of fresh air after I went through countless websites and unfriendly dealers to Auto Lenders of Princeton was just what I needed! It was like a breath of fresh air after I went through countless websites and unfriendly dealers to find the right car. This dealership is perfect for first-time buyers, women, and anyone who is not sure which brand they want and does not want the hassle of traveling to tons of dealers to find the right car. For context, I recently got rear-ended in an accident that totaled my first car, a trusty Honda from 2002. It was so difficult to even think about shopping for a car after losing mine and dealing with insurance. I did not have much time to research all of the makes and models while juggling a full-time job and grad school, and none of the Hondas looked particularly appealing. If I had a choice I wanted to go with something more fun, yet still safe. Enter Auto Lenders: conveniently located on Route 1, it's very easy to park and on a Monday night was almost empty - relaxing, even. Salesman Eric Vena helped me right away. I called in advance so that the car I was interested in was there when I arrived. I ended up going with a very cute white 2014 Subaru Impreza Sport LImited hatchback with tons of cool features! I love it and am so grateful every day. Pros: + Auto Lenders has almost all makes and models to choose from. If they don't have the car you want in one of their locations (like on Route 1), they have 22K vehicles at 6 locations and will get you your cars at any one of their locations on the same-day. + AL Salespeople, like Eric, are not typical used car salesmen pushing their single brand of car. It feels like they are on your side and want to make a good match. They are also more creative to find a good fit. + No haggle policy means you focus more on finding the right car than trying to get a deal. + ALL of their vehicles are Certified Pre-Owned, and come with new tires and brakes*** plus a 6 month "wearables" warranty (for things like wiper blades, cup holders, etc.) + Everyone treated me with respect, which is more than I can say for some dealerships that did not take me seriously as a young woman (28) buyer. Cons: - It's tough to do price comparisons on their cars since they're (typically) in such good shape: there isn't really anything comparable on the used car market. - While all of the vehicles have passed rigorous inspection, one of the cars I test drove smelled like wet dog. Not sure how that happened but AL should look into better detailing all vehicles. Luckily mine was pristine. ***My car had less than 15K miles on it so I asked them to check whether or not they had new brakes and tires installed. They dutifully checked and it did not, so I brought it in and they installed everything at no charge to me in ~2 hours on a weekday morning. More
