Shady Sales Practives!!!! BEWARE. I went in looking Shady Sales Practives!!!! BEWARE. I went in looking for a new car. I was trading in my old car(which had been paid off for over 1 year and had a Shady Sales Practives!!!! BEWARE. I went in looking for a new car. I was trading in my old car(which had been paid off for over 1 year and had a book value of about $3000). I spoke to Bill... he looked vaguely familiar, but don't most car salesmen? Anyway.. I told him how much I wanted to spend, gave him my trade-in info, and asked to see 2-3 cars that fit my criteria. Two hours later I was still sitting there, 3 times he left me to go speak to other peopel who had just wanled in off the street. Finally he came back and said they had 'no new cars; on the lot that fit my budget. But he had 2 'used' cars that he could work on to get me the payments I wanted. I said I didn't want 'used'. He continued to tell me he had no new cars in my price range..funny, they had advertised dozens of models in the local newspaper! Anyway... another hour passed, me still sitting there. Finally I agreed to look at 1 vehicle, a 2004 Jeep Liberty, supposedly the car was low miles, and just off a 2 year lease, and in tip-tip shape. And only $17,000. So I said I'd consider it. With my trade-in and payments below a certain amount. Another hour went by with Bill running to & from his 'boss's office' trying to negotiate a deal...yeah right. Each time he came back he said they needed actual Cash from me for the downpayment in addition to my fully paid off vehicle. I kept saying No, that I would not do it. More time passed with Bill coming back every few minutes to tell me the Boss was still not happy with the deal, couldn't I give him at least $200 cash. At the five hour point, I finally said Ok, but I want the car for this amount, monthly payments, this amount. He said good, we have a deal. This was a Friday evening and by now the dealship was technically closed. No one but salesman roaming he floor.I sat there contemplating escape. But I really needed a new car, and if I could get it for my price/my terms I thought it may be worth the aggravation. Needless to say I was very wrong. Bill came back , contract & keys in hand. He told me to sign the papers, we had a deal... I looked over the paperwork, it seemed to be in order.. bI missed the fact that my $200 cash deposit was nowhere on that document. And my 'trade-in' was there, but apparently not applied to he total cost of the car....a little accounting magic, so now final price went from $17,000 to $21000. Still Bill assured me the payments would be what I asked for. They had gotten finance approval from 3 sources. I could take the keys & drive the car home. They would have final papers on Monday for me to sign. Cut to the chase. Monday I called the dealership, Bill was 'unavailable', no matter when or how many times I called. I went to the dealership.. I asked and was told he was 'off' on Mondays. I was taken to the Credit Manager's office. I was told they could not get my loan approved for the payment amount I agreed to, and that the only loan approval they could get for me would cost me 'double the original agreed to amount', I was furious. I said fine, then take back your Jeep and give me back my trade-in! The credit manager called the Boss, he left, I was left sitting in that office for 30 minutes. he came back, he said he was sorry but my trade-in car was already gone... sent to auction, so I either I kept the Jeep and pay the payments or they'd find me another suitable car, but my loan would be the same. I'd signed a contract. I was irate, I admit I lost my temper and raised my voice, But in the end I was stuck.... or so I thought. I ended up taking the Jeep and leaving. I am still paying for this car. I had to re-finance it once to try to lower the monthly payments, which extended the loan yet another year. Oh and I had some issues with the Jeep that 'supposedly' were covered under warranty, which when I went to have the work done, I was told, none of the work I needed was covered. I left and took the Jeep to a local mechanic and paid for the work myself. Do not ever do business with this dealer, they are crooks. And look out for a guy named Bill... he's been a salesman at at least 4 dealerships in the North Jersey area. After I bought the Jeep , I finally remembered where I'd seen 'Bill' before. he had sold me a Kia Sportage 6 years before at Denville Nissan/Kia. That deal was also a bait & switch..... but not as bad as the Lohman mess. More

I got the run around I had to call and harass them everyday to get some info sent to my insurance company, my insurance company had to call a few times...ridiculous. Finally I bought the car car 3 weeks ago and had the dealership transfer over my registration and plates, I call today to find out the paperwork hasn't been sent to the DMV yet. Sales consultant was very unprofessional, he insulted my friend who came with me and snatched paperwork from my hand. He also did not bother looking at paperwork which informed him of what I was looking for friend who came with me and snatched paperwork from my hand. He also did not bother looking at paperwork which informed him of what I was looking for so wasted an hour showing me a 2012 car which I was not interested in. When asked about the 2011 for the second time he stated that they did not have them. Worst experience More
Let me start out by saying that I read very bad reviews about this dealer and was very hesitant to proceed with buying my new car from here. But my sales consultant Mike assured me that everything would be about this dealer and was very hesitant to proceed with buying my new car from here. But my sales consultant Mike assured me that everything would be fine. I am from Long Island and was buying the car there in NJ because I was guaranteed financing approval. I custom ordered a 2012 Ford Focus and the entire process took about 2 months. And the whole two months I was still very nervous about how the deal would work out. Well, yesterday was the day I picked up my car and I hafta say, it was definitely one of the easiest and most pleasant car buying experiences ever. Definitely the opposite of how I thought it was going to go and how I read it wasfor some people. The car was there waiting for me. The paperwork and financing was already done. There was no problems (like many ppl have posted) between what the sales guy said, and the finance guy said. Unless this is too good to be true, i did not have one problem. I do have to say the the double your downpayment $5000 towards a new car (which I didnt use because I had discount pricing thru my husbands job)is a gimmick to get you in, and kind of misleading. But if you go in there having done your research and knowing what cars cost in the real world you shouldnt have a problem. I would recommend Loman Ford. More
Nothing against Artie-not his fault he was a nice guy-I went there because I received an email from LOMANS about a so called promotion where they "WRITE" that they will give you 5,000 over book v went there because I received an email from LOMANS about a so called promotion where they "WRITE" that they will give you 5,000 over book value for your trade, that promotion is a GIGANTIC BOLD FACED SCAMMING LIE!I went there and I was totally upfront and honest with them about my situation I put all my cards on the table (BIG MISTAKE),what i wanted to do,how much I owed on my truck, how much I could afford to pay-well it does not pay to be honest they offered me an insulting 12,000 for my 2007 Jeep which is not even BOOK value, when I inquired about the 5,000 over book value offer, they explained it to me in their own made up MAGICAL MATH which has to be from another planet, which basically was give you something with the right hand and then take it back with the left-I know that my trade had negative equity and I am not in a great position but I also shopped around and went to five dealerships before I went to LOMAN KIA so i was not "clueless" needless to say I got 5 different offers for my trade which ranged from 14,500 the best offer to LOMANS 12,000 which was the lowest and the worst offer-I know the book value of my trade which is 14,725 according to Galves - folks dont waste your time with this dealership like I did-They are like the SILLY RABBIT full of TRICKS-They have a KIA SORRENTO there fully loaded for 42,000 I could buy a new MERCEDES ML350 for that price why would I buy a KIA!?-dealers take notice with the increase in use of the internet and the consumer become more informed and prepared your days of tricks, games, underhanded tactics are numbered, mark my words, transparency, fairness, reputation and treating consumers with respect is something that in the near future will be required for success.Good Luck LOMANS KIA you surely need it!--every time you "TRICK" someone your actions spread like wildfire by word of mouth I will surely tell all my friends and family members to NEVER EVER go to LOMANS because of your games.... went in to lease a car and was told it would be a few days till they got it from another dealer.I gave a 2000 deposit on my credit card. After waiting the 4 days and not getting it by then I went into an days till they got it from another dealer.I gave a 2000 deposit on my credit card. After waiting the 4 days and not getting it by then I went into another Ford just to compare prices because I was getting a bad feeling about the price I was paying. The new dealer gave me the same car except this one was LOADED and 5000 more of a sticker price for 6 dollars more a month. I called Loman to tell them how they were ROBBING me and they told me there was no way this dealer could do this price and that they would " bang me out" when I went into finance. They told me to come in and they would see if they could match it if not they would credit my credit card. I went into the dealer and they said they couldnt do it and that they WERE NOT GOING TO CREDIT MY DEPOSIT BACK! I then went into the Managers office and he tells me to bring in the paperwork with the new deal and he would THEN credit me! I had to walkout before I almost beat the guys head in.I then went to the new dealer and everything was AS PROMISED. LOMAN was indeed ROBBING ME BLIND! I WOULD NEVER STEP FOOT INTO THIS SHAM OF A DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND IF ANYONE DOES THEY ARE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE! More
Very friendly up until it's time to negotiate, then the attitude comes out if you offer a price too close to invoice. They didn't call us when the plates were ready. They didn't send in the payoff on our attitude comes out if you offer a price too close to invoice. They didn't call us when the plates were ready. They didn't send in the payoff on our trade-in, we didn't find out until another payment was deducted from our bank account by the lienholder (10 days after purchase). They botched their own rebate application, then held up the loan payoff until I supplied them with the registration of another vehicle that was not involved in the sale. Due to all the delays, the payoff they made to the bank was less than the payoff amount on the contract. This is by far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. More

My husband and I went to Lohman Ford to look at the new Ford Explorer. We were very unsatissfied with the service. The pricing offered and options for financing were unheard of. The information given ov Ford Explorer. We were very unsatissfied with the service. The pricing offered and options for financing were unheard of. The information given over the phone was not true once you arrived in the showroom. While there other customers complained about there disatisfaction with the dealership. Deals advertised really were a bait and switch. Such as they were offering double your down payment. We were told over the phone this could be applied toward a lease or finance. In speaking with the salesman we were informed this information was not correct. We would not recommend this dealership to our least favorite friends. They should not be allowed to carry the Ford name. More
