We were in on 10/9 and dealt with Zach to purchase a 2012 Audi S4, VIN# WAUBGAFL8CA116943. Although Carfax listed a minor and moderate accident/damage incidents, the latter, Zach explained, happened on the u Audi S4, VIN# WAUBGAFL8CA116943. Although Carfax listed a minor and moderate accident/damage incidents, the latter, Zach explained, happened on the used car lot (we were told a customer backed into it), we later discovered through our lender that the car was listed as a total loss on reporting they have access to. Zach and his Manager Carlo acted curiously surprised to learn of this and seemed accepted it fairly easily. We stopped the purchase, so they could follow up with the insurance agency. We were told on Monday, 10/11 that it wasn't worth it to fight the insurance agency (If the insurance agency listed as a total loss, why didn't they buy the car/title?) so they offered us a $1,500 discount which we declined, and Carlo indicated they would sell the car at auction or update the listing and price to indicate the actual status, per VA state law I believe. As of today, 10/20, the car price was actually increased over the original $21,920 price, and total loss is still not listed on Carfax or anywhere else in the listing. Per conversation with Carlo today, he indicated that corporate policy and the car shortage prevented them from sending the car to auction, and they raised the price to limit interest in the vehicle, but that they would disclose the total loss when a customer was interested. I am not clear on their end-game. The car drove well, and you wouldn't suspect (and there may not be) damage to this extent however, the uninformed cash buyer will likely have a challenge selling the vehicle in the future, as the total loss rating catches up! I see all the great ratings for this dealership, and I hope this issue in an anomaly, however as always, do your homework. The lending bank should do this for you as they will not finance a total loss, so more a caution for cash buyers. More
Good overall experience for drop off, keeping informed of status, and pickup. Prices are on the high side as expected with a dealership, but work was performed well.
