I've been. using this dealership for service for the last 5 years and usually had a good experience with the service department. This experience, however, was very disappointing in regards to the type of da 5 years and usually had a good experience with the service department. This experience, however, was very disappointing in regards to the type of damage done by what appeared to be a faulty timing chain. The service schedule for the 2012 states replace the timing chain/belt at 110k miles but at 67k, mine failed. A search on the internet showed that this was a common problem and that Audi/VW settled a class action lawsuit for this problem. The settlement led to an extension of the warranty on the timing chain and a percentage of the repair costs done to the engine (50% in my case). When initially quoted, the support person was unaware of this until I asked about it and he then noticed there was a service bulletin on this. They got back to me about 3-4 days later saying Audi would cover the timing chain and 50% of the engine repair (caused by the failed timing chain Audi knew about but didn't recommend replacing at any of my regular service visits). The total time out was over 4 week without a loaner which was a major inconvenience. While I understand the shortage of loaners and why one was never offered, it seems the dealership was more interested in selling the loaners rather than providing customers with one. I also found that I had to initiate a lot of the communication about the status of the vehicle rather than having the rep reach out to provide updates. However, the rep was responsive each time (though usually the same answer of still trying to figure it out). Overall, I was disappointed with the service experience but my opinion improved a little when the car was finally done. However, the poor decisions by Audi (not the dealer) regarding the defective timing chain and consequential engine damage has soured me on any future purchase of an Audi (or VW). I gave this place 4 stars mainly because their customer service wasn't able to offer a loaner over the 4 weeks and that the cost to me for a design defect with no warning at previous service visits. I have been taking my car in to Audi Westmont for regular maintenance and repairs for 13 years. They have always done everything right. My service consultant, Eric Y., goes out of his way to listen to me and maintenance and repairs for 13 years. They have always done everything right. My service consultant, Eric Y., goes out of his way to listen to me and to make sure all necessary repairs are done properly, but he also understands the fact that I have an old car so I need to be careful about expenses. I appreciate that consideration. More

Among the four Chicagoland Audi dealerships that I've visited, Audi of Westmont is by far my favorite. The knowledgeable and courteous service agents provide helpful explanations and accurate repair tim visited, Audi of Westmont is by far my favorite. Generally speaking, the folks working there are very courteous and professional, but some of the services offered feel a bit “bait and switch”.
