I purchased a 2019 Audi e-tron in September 2023. I purchased an extended VSC/Warranty. On 12/28/2024 I received from Riverside/Walters Audi check dated 12/24/24 for the cancellation of an Extended W I purchased an extended VSC/Warranty. On 12/28/2024 I received from Riverside/Walters Audi check dated 12/24/24 for the cancellation of an Extended Warranty with no letter or notice of any kind other than a comment line "SAFEGUARD DEEMED INELIGIBLE FOR COVERAGE." I have tried for nearly two weeks to talk to the dealership through multiple calls and emails. No response. I'm not cashing the check, and I've filed a complaint with the California Insurance Commissioner. Riverside Audi never registered the VSC with Safe-Guard and the VSC now appears as if it has not been in effect even though I had paid in full for it in September 2023 when I purchased the used e-tron. Safe-Guard (the warranty company, not the paperwork) told me they had no record of the transaction or the vehicle service contract registration and I asked Safe-Guard if they had ever received that paperwork. SafeGuard told me that "if the Dealer does not submit a copy of the contract to us, it will not be in our system until they do so." I asked SafeGuard if it appears Riverside Audi had never even sent it to them, and the reply was "Yes." So I paid Walter's Riverside Audi nearly $4K for a VSC over 15 months previously, and Riverside Audi never paid for the coverage. Yeah, I would never deal with this outfit again, and would strongly question why anyone would. Someone obviously made a serious error at the dealership: they took 15 months to let me know: they won't talk to me about what happened, and they have not shown any interest whatever in resolving it. Totally pathetic in my opinion. More

I am redoing this review with adequate detail because of the dealership's attempt to invalidate my previous review. This will be a long read, but I assure prospective buyers that my experience highlights important lessons about dealing with this business. Why It Was About the Experience, Not the Price I hope the following points explain why my decision to walk away was based on the experience and not just the price. I must add that the dealership's response to my review only reinforced the poor experience. A. Lack of Honest Communication Every time I asked for an out-the-door price, your team stopped responding. It took repeated escalations to management before I finally received a proper response. Why was this necessary? This lack of transparency was frustrating and unprofessional. B. Poor Handling by Sales Team The fact that you had to step in as a manager speaks volumes about the inadequacy of your sales team. While you were marginally better than your subordinates, the overall experience remained disappointing. Your involvement didn’t resolve much—it only highlighted how poorly your team communicates. C. Manipulative Appointment Tactics Your salespeople seemed solely focused on booking appointments rather than providing clear answers. Once an appointment was booked, communication mysteriously stopped, or the salesperson conveniently went on leave. It felt like a pressure tactic rather than genuine customer service. I've dealt with many dealerships, and while some use manipulative tactics like yours, there are plenty of serious and transparent dealerships out there. D. Misleading Pricing Practices Getting a clear price was unnecessarily difficult. When I finally received an itemized breakdown, it included numerous questionable fees. For instance, $1,800 was added for LoJack under the guise of a mandatory fee—something that is blatantly misleading. The text size for these fees was deliberately small, making it easy to miss unless scrutinized closely. For any prospective buyers reading this: always request an itemized breakdown and carefully dispute every fee they try to add. E. Non-Competitive Pricing Even after calling out these deceptive practices, your pricing wasn’t competitive. A few days later, you had to drop the price further just to sell the car in question. By then, I had already decided against purchasing—not because of the price but because of the poor experience with your dealership. Questionable Review Practices I can’t help but feel that many of the positive reviews here don’t reflect reality. My experience was so drastically at odds with them that it raises doubts about their legitimacy. Instead of using my feedback as an opportunity to improve, both the manager and a salesperson (who barely worked with me) reached out to complain that my review wasn’t “representative” of their service. This behavior is unprofessional and symptomatic of deeper issues within your business. Final Thoughts I want to emphasize that I was genuinely interested in buying this car—it was your team’s behavior and practices that drove me away. I don’t mind paying more for a dealership that treats its customers with honesty and respect, but I refuse to support one that relies on deceitful tactics. To anyone considering this dealership: be vigilant about their pricing practices and insist on transparency at every step. Ask for an itemized breakdown of all fees (with a magnifying glass if necessary). Finally, I will be reaching out to Audi USA regarding my experience as Audi is known to have some of the customer experience, and I did feel that at every other Audi dealership I dealt with.
